We write our blogs, we check our mail with a smile
But we aren't so good about checking our old profile.

Which means that LodgeManager may view mine and that's just fine
But he needs to rethink that "looking for a woman" and get another line.

That's my contribution -- but I thought it a strange coincidence that I would find you among "those interested in FtF" with the subtext of "looking for a woman" and "Looking for a companion to share my life style" when it sort of looks like you found gold in GreatSmile. It's ok, I had to remind Lyn to go back and look at his because he was still "looking" when we had been married for several months -- he just never thought about his profile.

Wish we could be with you this July. You all have a great time and I will keep hoping some bash will work out for me [and for Lyn if I can get him to leave home that long].

Cajunlady is semi-retired but still working day and night...
She lives in small-town MN with dreams of“Mr. Right”.

Along came SFF...the profile, the photos, the winks, and the smiles...
Cajunlady sends out ‘getting acquainted’ emails traveling via cyberspace miles.

Her Inbox is blinking... some from friends but others deleted with nary a glance...

I never give up... send more emails, giving love another chance.

We may not be poets but no one will know it.
As Jimmy says, who cares if we show it.
Hey this blog is for fun, not to show skill.
I can't rhyme worth a darn but somebody will.

There is something very special in the land of unreal
You can just about say anything you feel

No one really knows or cares who you really are
And it sure beats hanging at at some sleazy bar

As for anyone who takes this as anything serious
I think you must all be highly delirious

SO SHE PUT THEM ALL IN A CUTE LITTLE BOAT,
GARY GAVE IT TO HER BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING
AND JUST TO MUCH TROUBLE TO KEEP IT AFLOAT......

Then he pointed to a pile of dirt that was about a half mile away,
U know how long it took to haul enough to fill that boat? ALL DAY!

she's been told that life was a game.

But once-in-awhile she becames very quiet
her countenance is quite serious.

Nobody really knows what she's thinking
she has now become quite mysterious.

My wonderful friend Gary says I have to write a poem
But I've been really busy trying to straighten up my home
My wonderful last love moved all his stuff here in December
But I still lurk around here 'cause my friends I do remember.
I have never been so happy in my sixty years of living
I have found a man who loves me and is passionate and giving
He brings the coffee to my bed and really treats me fine
So, yes, there is a good chance to find happiness on line.
There's no way I can say it all with just four lines or so
But you get the idea, now I really gotta go!

And I will sing your praises 'til my life comes to an end
For Rich and I to visit you is something that we wish
Who knows..we both might win a special prize for catching a big fish
You helped me in so many ways I cannot list them here
You even made a special trip to find my kind of beer
You showed me that a "big old broad" like me can live anew
This verse is just my way of saying "Thanks a lot" to you.

THe magic woke me up
right about three AM
now here I am writing
cause Cariad is my friend

But right about this time
I need to get some sleep
before my head hits the keys
and leaves a gash so deep

The sun will soon be rising
the fish will jump at bait
but I am just too tired
my catch will have to wait

Book me a room lodge manager
and do not disturb my sleep
and please keep the noise down
I don't want to hear a peep !

On earth and in the heavens above
No matter the question, the answer is Love

LodgeManager replies on 5/13/2008 5:16 am:

I bait my hook with wishes
and begin to reel them in
Oh, how I love a hook and line
that sink her from within.

There's plenty of room on board
So grab yourself a line
bait it with a smile
I'll bite it everytime.

It's time to join my guests, "Masters of Rhyme and Wit".
To thanks you for your entries, though four line may not fit.
Who cares if we go over, if we are happy with what we say.
Reading these poems from my friends, really make my day.
So if Wolfie and wishes can do it, I'll also give it a try.
I'll take up space for six lines although I don't know why.

What's that I hear
outside my door
A cricket now I find
I'll take him with
to catch some fish
relax and unwind

I'll put that cricket
on my hook and
throw in my line
And wait and wait
for my first bite
this could take some time

At Gary's lodge
the fishins good
all year around
But it's the bait
the fish don't like
they're all wearing frowns !

On earth and in the heavens above

Why, I’m only too happy to oblige

So girls, don't even hesitate
Those telescoping poles are fine
It seems they come with quite a line
And if you really want to fish
Just close your eyes and make a wish
If you are lucky, you can fly
To Lunker Lodge come this July.

Days 'til Bash at Fish Lodge
now - ya' can't dodge
that there's less than before
for them-thar fish to grow more & more

Hmmm ... there's breakfast cookin'
cooked by cook that's good-lookin'
Will there be hash at Bash?
Lots of non-green eggs & ham?
and kosher bacon bakin' (or microwavin' - lol)
and oatmeal w/cinnamon & raisins
so there's energy to spare
for the heck y'all will be raisin'

I ain't no Doctor Seuss
Surely will be orange Jeuss (or juice - lol)
So get that coffee goin'
Collect them-thar shot glasses
y'all jolly lads and lasses.

When there's fishin' contest winner
will ya' be frying that for dinner?

(whew - gotta quit this
poh-et-tree writin'
so y'all won't wanna
do a heckuva lot fuss 'n fightin'
with me. hehehehe)

I've enjoyed this Blog, as it's plain to see.
We talked about fishing we talked about the bash
We got a little kinky and talked some trash.
The rule of four, long ago went out the door.
So I'll rhyme on till Smiles tells me no more.
Oh, Oh, she's ready, my mates in heat.
So good night fellow poets, it's time for my treat.

Instead of dueling with crickets and bugs.
go find a woman who want to give you HUGS
you may need a ruler to measure the length yours
But for me your gonna have, to use one of the oars

But not for love, that sounds sick.

Reading this blog has made me smile,
It started out being so wholesome.
Then it changes to guys writing in denial,
and competing as to whose pole is most awesome.

We are all in our spirits still twenty three,
full of spunk, and lust, playfullness and glee.
Even though those peak days have passed factually,
We are always young and always will be.

Thanks to this site we can all share
our laughter, our feelings, with nary a care,
We can even pretend to be poets,
As I have just done on a moment's notice.

Now with the help of the poets, we are now on page five.
Who knows where it'll end, they're keeping it alive.

My feelings are hurt and my ego is broken
In Wishes new poem, my name isn't spoken
I may not show up every day like a few
But I always have something to say when I do
So, I will not spend too much time being sad
'Cause it's finally Friday and I'm really glad
My wonderful man doesn't work for two days
So we can stay home in the forest and play!

LodgeManager replies on 5/16/2008 10:40 am:
Smile and be happy, that what it's all about.
No one on this post need yell or shout.
Poets; on this blog write their words, (good or bad).
For the most part we're all happy, no one here is sad.

Wishes
fishes

-and-

On dining table
there are dishes
served up in 'family style'
lots & lots, for nearly a mile

And looking at pix
of Wishes
I will keep my wishes
as my secret
in niche's
in empty spaces
in my brain
behind my face.

I have only one face,
in real-time life and
on-line; I won't
tell you 'a line'

I carefully put my lines
in a tackle box
won't use 'em on you.

I'll find HollyHocks
in the boat
that doesn't float

where Maggie fertilizes flowers
with fish guts
and makes bowers
of flowers
to decorate The Lodge,
Gary's life and this poem-time
that has almost
run out of words
to rhyme.

Might be pansies
in the boat
that doesn't float

Won't be any pansy-guys
at the Lodge;
Because - Real Men and
Real Women - go fishin'
then - do a bit of dishin'
out in the moonlight
under the stars
'Carolina Moon, Keep Shining'

I won't be there to show
you 'my' moon;
that's planted
in my desk chair

Not im the boat
That doesn't
float.

Hugs to Y'all

Elle

It's time for you're dutiful host to add a comment to this post.
I won't mention fishing and promise no more pictures of a toast.
However; it take a lot of thinking to answer everyone in rhyme.
I started out with coffee, although' I'd do better after wine.

You guys have been great, it's hard to believe we're on page five.
It seems like all my friends are poets and have kept this blog alive.
I can't say what's coming in July; though, some of you will be here.
I wish we could all get together, to dance, party and drink some beer.

This gave me an idea for Karaoke night, (imagine this?) what a sight.
Get music, and write 4 lines about who you are, I'd have to be tight.
The 4 line rule is gone, but I still don't want to invoke your rage.

This blog was started by the Lodgemanager on May 6th
Which means it will be on the front page till June 6th.

Oh my goodness, that's another 3 weeks
So many rhyming words to find...where do I find them? Where do I seek?

I'm not a poet and don't I know it!
Besides that, I've run out of wit.

I'm hoping all of Lodgie's friends
Will keep this blog alive till the end.

This blog-thread will thrive
'til day after June Five

Lodge Mgr's capn's log
might be filled by this blog

Then, the cap'n turns a page
to set the stage

For near-on 30 days
for sff members to stay

a'lookin' in here
a'writin' - and a'drinkin' beer

or summa Gary's wine
that'll be just fine.

my fingers linger
and brains drain

so now,
I'll click on 'send'
soon will be

(Almost) The End. (for now)

Until Gary and/or Maggie begin
a new Blog here
so bloggers,

I've had enough of watching ESPN2 on my dish.
Today I'm teaching Maggie, how to catch a gar.
Packing up the house boat, as we're going far.
She looks more like a movie star then a fishing gal.
Tomorrow watch for pictures, only time will tell.

BoomBoom23 suggests that we ought to take a peek
At what is tucked inside those big tackle boxes
I must admit, I’m intrigued by the mystique
Of the tools of the trade and how a guy out foxes
Those pretty little fish out swimming in the sea
Some use fresh bait or cast lures with colored splotches
But I am partial to fine feathers that tickle my fancy
And the size of the hook on the bait that he tosses
Oh, and bright shiny things, almost anything flashy
Tell me, do your tackle boxes come with these in those Carolina lodges?

Instead of sitting watching ESPN2 and Wishing.
Gar was our goal, they are long, strong and bold.

!Please Good Lord Put Your Arm Around My Shoulder!.

As you know, I have gotten a little older,

But it seems none the wiser,

For those Horses are not thoughtfull when they think they'v seen a tiger.

Or at least in his eye's that is what he believed,

When next I came too, I was at Emergency being recieved.

After much reasurance my horse was just fine,

Feeling my knee, I knew I would not be dancing in a line.

Then was told,"A year for it to mend",

Dear Lord, this will drive me around the bend.

It was then that I asked For !His Hand To Go Over My Mouth As I Didn't
Want To Offend!

wishes do not wait
for kisses from Cariad
she sends them with each word
each poem that is read

From soft gentle breezes
that pass so tenderly
to hot and passionate lips
that devour me

Someday, my hearts wishes
will become a reality
And words of kisses will succumb
To the Magic touching me

For now, my heart is full
knowing somewhere her's is to
tommorrow is much easier
with hope today for you.

My heart is happy that you can see
And words do serve to comfort me
Knowing now that her magic can be
In your realm of possibility

Her poems are woven from her pure heart
But Hope sometimes needs one kick-start
She has so much love to share
Her magic can strike most anywhere

Imagine her first magic glare
Lifting the cloud of lonely despair
Life is short so with you I'll share
Buy a ticket and get in the air !

As for me, let me tell you in this way
Since I've been here, my wishes have come true
My heart is filled with Hugs every day
And, my friend, I wish the same for you!

Instead; I won it, she showed me how it's done.
The competition was really tough, many pro's were here.
But when it was over, our team was drinking beer.
Smiles may be lucky; however, many say she's good.
After three days of fishing, I'll be snoring, like cutting wood.
So tomorrow after she wakes up, the pictures will be here.
Me; my trophy, and Smiles , but with coffee , no more beer.

I can't think of one

I Can't Think of One

I need to write a poem
but I can't think of one.
I hope inspiration comes soon
before my page is done.

I put my pen to paper
but I can't think of one.
Oh! Woe is me, help me Lord,
this really isn't fun.

I'm into stanza three
but I can't think of one.
This writing is pathetic
no trophy will be won.

Well now I'm getting desperate
but I can't think of one.
I might as well admit defeat
and call this poem done.

"It's not over"

This blog has been great, I've met some new friends.
Talent with Rhyme and wit, I hope it never ends.

The Four line rule, could never last and has gone down.
Because of the skill of our bloggers, that can't be bound.

We have our regular members that have kept it going.
And a few drop-in talents that keep the blog growing.

To my "Friend's Network" that have dropped by,
You have been super, whether a poem or to say hi.

We have talked about fishing, and the length of your pole..
Hell; we've even talked about finding a new fishing hole.

Nothing has been spared, for it's all been in fun.
Keep Rhyming my friends, this post is not done.

I've done this reply, so a picture I could add.
Last Sunday's Winner, now don't it make you sad.

For you're all invited to the Lodge, to fish and party.
And with Jimmy and Wishes the party would be hardy.

I'm practicing for Karaoke.
Got one LONG poem. It's kinda hokey.
Here's a clue. I dress up for the 'cause'.
And all that relate will respond with applause.
The title is WASTE MANAGEMENT.
I'm told it's really neat
In case you are still wondering,
It involves a 'toilet seat'

All's well that ends well!

LodgeManager replies on 5/21/2008 4:24 pm:

Someone say I'm late? Gotta work for a livin'
Got too much takin' and not enough givin'
That's quite a large fish your holding up there
You're having so much fun, it almost seems unfair

Can't make the bash this fourth of July
Have previous commitments is my reason why
But maybe this fall I can head down your way
And rent me a cabin and hang a few days

I expect a few things when I get to your place
A nice room, a few beers, and a smile on your face
And of course I'd like to try my hand at fishin'
To take a little break from all this wishin' !

I'm doing a Reply, so a picture I may add.
Though standard members may not see them, this makes me sad.
This Rhyming gets additive as my emails now have shown.
If I can get them on this Blog, we'd have this post growing.
No more talk of fishing and I won't mention the NC Bash
In-fact I think, I'll end this poem and stop talking trash.

So,you want to give up and throw in the towel
That kind of attitude just makes me howl
Wishes and Lodgie just don't seem like quitters
They've shown all along they are both good bull-chitters
So bring on your verses, your poems, your rhymes
And get to the Bash if you want some good times
I will not be there, it's a matter of money
So I'll just be content to stay here with my honey

Wolfie; a short note, intended just for you.
I wrote a poem for Smiles, but you can read it too.
It's under Happy Anglers, our Couple's blog that's hid.
Very few people read it, we keep it under a tight lid,

I wanted to share my Happiness with you, my best friend.
It's strange how things happen, where will all this end.
Smiles, is the garden and you know where I'm at.
Writing words of Rhyme and wit and reading this and that.

The Pig Roast was a lot of fun, I'm sure you will agree.
I'm happy you were here catching fish and drinking beer with me.
Smiles seen all the pictures and we both think they are great.
Maybe in the future we can do it all again, just give us a date.

Maybe it'll seek refuge with the neighbor down the hall.

Never say never!
For like fishing we're blessed,
With patience a plenty,
When we're put to the test.

I had to lay low in the shallows a while,
To gather my strength to swim the last mile,
Now i've search this whole stretch and nowhere can I find,
Thoses wishes and Crickets that are so on my mind!

Come let us 'party'.. Dear guys we'll have fun,
My engine is revving in gear number one,
My temperature's soaring and im ready to roar,
Now guys this is what a real party is for!!

So abandon your poles and your fish for a while,
And show me your 'razzle and 'dazzle' in style,
please make sure all worms are now free of the 'hook',
Cos Im sometimes quite naughty and may sneak a look!!

hehe! now you know im feeling better!

To do a reverse pyramid if fine.
But I found it's harder to do in Rhyme.
Now that I'm finally through fishing today.

Safe in the knowledge that Im at one,
With friends that share this Love of mine,
And carry its light through the Circle of Time.

This cloak of Dreams is mine to share,
With the lost and lonesome everywhere,
So hold my hand and walk a while,
Whilst friendship weaves its Magic smile.

What holds us when the night's turned low,
And the babbling river flows,
But the Love and hope inside the Heart,
Of the one who cares and knows.

Have you ever slept beneath the Stars,
And marvelled at the way,
They have seemingly of winking,
Like a friend who's come to stay!

There's a calm,a sense of healing,
A whisper of a kind,
Which breathes on all the lonely,
And troubled deep of mind.

For this is Magic weaving,
Her Love throughout the Land,
As hope is pressed against her heart,
That more will understand.

So when you wake this morning,
And life now seems OK,
Take a moment to say 'ThankYou',

Here I am sitting home and feeling sad.
Smiles is shopping and my staff is mad.
It's raining here and we should be fishing.
Instead. I'm looking outside and only wishing.

Wishing that all my friends could be here.
With a rod in one hand and in the other a beer.
Jimmy; please tell me, all about Wishes in poem.
He must be at work, I don't thinks he's home.

But look out for his answer, he'll get you in Rhyme.
He is tough in the clinches and may not be kind.
Just dropped by for a minute as HappyAngler's profile.
That way if I fail, I have room for denial.

See you much later, when Smiles returns to the nest.
Mean while I'll back off and give room for the best.
But before I depart, I want to thank you for caring.
And let all our friends know, we appreciate you sharing.

My love is safe with trust so rare

My oh my, the Bloggers' Poem is still growing
And the poetic talents of many are flowing
There's talk of finding love and throwing a bash
While I sit and wonder: "What next can I hash?"

There's Wishes, he speaks of broken dreams,
He's had quite a few, or so it seems
Jiminy speaks and it's straight from the hip,
Sometimes quite lose are those smiling lips

Lodge speaks of fishing and having fun,
ChiChi speaks of finding her man in the sun
You're beautiful, Hon, he'll show up soon
He'll appear by the light of the smiling moon.

I'll see you all in blogland, as this poem is done
And I live far away so I'll miss the big one
But I wish you much fun and drink a few for me
'Cause I already know... just how much fun it will be!

Blessings to you all! ;o)

There is an ache way down deep
It's near my soul and mine to keep
It cuts my heart with claws so sharp
And drowns the sound of heavens harp

And wakes me up with sad refrain
With mortals wounds and nothing gained
It begs me see the love I lost
And cry my river of tears the cost

Till sun presents another chance
At joys of love.. and one more dance

Joys of love soak up the sun
told on a mountain for everyone
The music of the heart to play
when lovers dance the night away

Silently the clouds do roar, when
love basks in sunlight no more
the solo music is the pain
and no one dances in the rain

Well here we are on page nine
with all these words of love and rhyme
Wishes has an ache way down deep
and Jimminy wants to dance in his sleep

Mseducator would love to come
And party with us
But she"s in Chicago
Why not take the bus?

Smiles is running around in a tizzy
She need's to take a break, she's so busy
LodgeManager just kicks back and has a glass of wine
That's because he's the boss and is so fine

I love the smile yet to be born,
Which dances in your eyes,
I love the laughter deep inside,
As you feign such great surprise.

I love the patience that you have,
With a 'fruit loop' such as me,
I love the fact that you accept,
That I dance wild and free.

You love me dressed in leathers,
My engine revved up high,
You love the look I give you,
Cos you know we're gonna fly!

You love me in the kitchen,
Singing whilst I cook,
And I love those lips you're licking,
With that oh so hungry look!

We love to play on sweet guitars,
And Saxophone as well,
We love to have friends over,
For the many tales they tell.

But this is just my wish list,
A hope of dreams and love,
So if you like the sound of it,
Please tick the box above!!

"God's Gift to Man"

The mornings here, the birds they sing,
Sweet songs of life, of cherished things.
They seem to say, Oh Lord above,
We thank you for these gifts of Love.

The river's calm, slight rain now falls,
To quench the thirst of land, Ti's solved.
I only wish my mind could be,
As clear as this, tormented free.

The pines they stand so straight and tall,
As elm and birch, and cedar all,
Stand pointed up to heaven above.
Testimony of his gifts of love.

I sit here now, just me alone,
Engulfed in spender, of natures home.
I've never known such peace of mind.
God's gifts to man, I've come to find.

In the past I've thought of death as cruel
But now I know, I was a fool,
For as living things when dead decay
You see in death they're making way.

For as trees and flowers give off seed,
And living creatures produce by breed.
We find earth's cycle renewed each day.
The Lord our Shepard will show the way.

After reading your poems and what you say.

Gary you're a Star my friend,
Mother Nature is your muse,
It felt good to share your path a while,
And the beauty of such views.

Smiles and you were Heaven-matched,
And that is plain to see,
For your love shines oh so brightly,
And together you'll fly free!

I wish you all the very best,
For this B*A*S*H and far beyond,
And send you heaps of Magic,
From this far side of the 'pond'!

Poetry, for me, is like a dove
When spoken true, it flies with love
It makes us smile, it tugs the heart
It stirs the soul, right from the start

It makes us wish, it lures a fish
It kisses the sky, it tears the eye
Poetry or Die! That's the poet's cry
Rhyme it or not, poetry can not lie.

There is poetry in the sway of trees
The way they move in the evening breeze
Just like the sway in a woman's hips
And the way she moves her gentle lips

And poetry is in the soul of men
When they walk free, they have no sin
They stride along like a beast in the wild
Beautiful they are, sometimes like a child.

So whether we live it or write it down
Poetry abounds, from sky to ground
It's in me and it's in all of you
Poets will always do what poets must do!

Since you erased my finest ever
This one won't be quite as clever
With your poems I am impressed
Gary..serious? Who'd have guessed!
I cannot recreate the one
That accidently came undone
There is a reason...it's because
I write them when I catch a buzz
And since I write like Ogden Nash
My poems will not bring me cash
Well, this will have to do just fine
So I can be here on page nine!

Hiding the pain they don't want you to see,
Living it all through the verse which they share,
With a 'happy go lucky' fantasy air!.

A full moon glows way out in space
Lights up the stars my gaze to see

And in the heavens the'll always be
That shining star for all to see
It's stardust falls on lovers hearts
While wishes and dreams it does impart

When stars begin their moonlit dance
Lovers take flight in true romance
The heart made soft by a shining star
And warmed by love... now from afar

I've been away to the beach, far away from this blog.
When I found it is still going, I thought it to be quite odd.
As I read the many poems, I saw that the content became more complex,
spinning visions of love, moonlight, and just beneath it all, Sex.

We are caught up in a beguiling drama where words tumbling about,
some rhyming, some barely coming close, yet each one carries clout.
I am not different from those here who spin dreams and wish.
I am going to the bash and if nothing else maybe I'll catch a fish.

I know I'll make new friends and have memories to cherish,
Without such social outlets in life we would all surely persish.
I want to warn you all for the bash that I prefer to sleep in,
You'll see me when you see me, ready for a cup of tea and wearing a grin.

Can't wait to see you all at the Lodge!

Ah jiminy!..No to perfection,
for that's not for me,
I want a Man who's Spirit runs free,
Who's laughter is catching and warm to the touch,
Yes maybe Im asking for way too much.

One who still smiles through the hardest of days,
And puts up with me and my fantasy ways,
Who'll accept my need for my fast Motorbike,
And tell all my critics to go take a hike!

A Man who needs loving and pleasure indeed,
And enjoys the feast to the point of pure greed!
One for whom Polictics,Football and TV
Will never be Heaven when compared to me!.

One who's tactile and patient but very much Man,
Who will accept if he can't that maybe I can,
One who loves cuddles and Magic and sea,
Who's happy with himself as he is with me!

And awaited,as promised,the beautiful dream,
I received mainly come ons and a few sick remarks,
And got badly bitten by crafty old sharks!

But now I am wiser!,I'll fish with a line,
And be more discerning whilst biding my time,
So what is it my friends do I have the wrong bait?,
Or is all this rhyming why they hesitate?

Am I out of fashion when I talk about love,
Or Magic and Moonbeams and stars up above?
In which case Im sorry you guys for you see,
I do not wish to be anyone other than me!

I'll relax in the Lodge, chase my worries away,
And talk to the fishes to see what they say,
Then later i'll party until the night ends,

With practice I will learn the knack

Skinny dipping in the moonlight,
And drying in the sand,
We had no need for talking,
Our eyes could understand.

That sweet feeling of together,
The Magic of the night,
Warm hearts and hot romancing,
So fully fledged for flight.

You always loved, yet laughed, at my element of wild,
For only you could ever see this lost and lonely child,
Happy were our travels and many there were too,
Each day smudged into the another.
As I melted into you.

Happy days and happy years we thought we had it all,
Til Heaven called our new born son and the world began to fall,
You were so brave and held my hand and patched me up like new,
I guess I always realised there was no one else like you.

A few months further forward when I was feeling strong,
From the knock upon the door I knew something was so wrong,
There had been an accident, a nightmare would be more true,
That night I lost my love and God for he had taken you.

To really know the sorrow
of broken yesterdays
is to carry into tommorrow
The memory carriad today

I only know that living
is something that we do
And loving is the magic
that shared to get us through

Loving doesn't fade
or disappear altoghter
It's living that changes
as easily as the weather

The days when the clouds roll in
and the rain comes falling down
Remember life is for the loving
And living is the life all around.

By Jiminy, Cricket!
that's NC bashes' raffle ticket
and how did ya get the prize?
don't be telling any fish size lies

Wishes will be there in absentia
while Smiles grows florencia
in the garden, soon to be center pieces
on dining tables with no pretty laces

Red & white checkered under your plate
now, y'all know why that is?
so ya' won't see spaghetti sauce smudge
then for dessert,
it's ice cream with triple chocolate fudge

In the evening, it's dancing with Gary
where there's almost nary
a misstep by Smiles
-nor-
by any lady with sweet wiles

A shot glass from here,
a shot glass from there
you said - 'from where'?
I dunno, Gary don't care

Anybody fishin' for halibut?
nahhh ... not even do that for the 'elluvit
for gar and for bass,
none to be served under glass.

Dance in a line
that'll be fine
but shuffle along
and allay'all sing
with a karaoke song

It's all in good cheer
bend your elbows, lift a few
as sunset's light
fades from sight.

I've writ this chit
and here I sit,
soon to tick my mouse cursor
on shut off
sooooo -- this don't get worser.

Cariad,

I wish I could show you, the joys that life can bring
amidst the pain and sorrow, to hear a heart sing

Like waves upon the shore, pools that ebb and flow
Coming closer as you stand their, only to pull away and go

Not knowing the ebb of the tide, each wave inching away
or the flowing, to greet your toes, in the sand where they stay

Do you anxiously run to meet it, plunging feet first
Or wait to have it greet you, savoring the thirst.

Is there fear it may reach you? and wash away the sand
too cold for you skin to touch, so you feel down with your hand.

Oh! to test the waters, for the temperature just right
not committing to let it touch you, but knowing that you might

Maybe you take no chances and a step back away
Not wanting to touch the sea, not wanting to feel that way.

Close your eyes and smell the ocean, feel the breeze in your hair
hear the sea gulls speak their rhythm, feel the magic coming near

In your heart you see the hope, the horizon upon the ocean
You feel the tides of love, all around, set in motion.

To Cariad,

Your loss is so deep, it’s impossible to explain
Why in the world were you shown all this pain
I speak from my heart as I travel my road
Although ours are different, we each bear a load

It’s hardest for those who fate left behind
Questioning God and asking him why
Wishing all the tomorrows would just go away
Telling him that, this is the last time you’ll pay

I could speak of my God and what I believe
It's' wondrous and loving and hard to conceive
In my case I know, I’m still here for a reason
I have more to learn, for a time or a season

That is the path, that I am being shown
Whether with new love, or myself all alone
And our "special" gifts bring an understanding
Of what's really important, and truly outstanding

I wish I knew the answers, to life's mysteries
Like our separation from love and eternity
Just one split second, seems all that it takes
But that could never, a lifetime erase

But losing my love has instilled in me
A new purpose in life and who I can be
Some nights I look up at the stars above
And I question him still, where is my love?

And as I gaze at all the wonders of space
I think of all the times, I've received his grace
It's at that very moment, that I truly know
I have all I need, and he loves me so

My heart holds the love that continues to grow
And a heart full of love is blessed, I know
Whether from here on earth or from somewhere above
No matter what our question… The answer is Love

You all have shown to me,
You've put up with my sadness,
That I just had to free.

Today I'll touch the waves again,
And breathe the fresh sweet spray,
For I feel a little happiness,
Being gently blown my way.

Yet still I love its tune,
Like lightning in a bottle,
From love Im not imune!

To dance again in lifes constant ocean
Just jump right on in with one head-first motion

And swim your way all the way to the middle
Or just doggy-paddle, little by little

Just get there any way that you can
Relax in lifes waves again and again

Look for a bottle with a note inside
Write them a poem, tell them you're alive

Watch out for sharks, life's a dangerous place
Swim with the dolphins in all of their grace

And if an interesting ship should come by
Climb up on board and put on something dry

Knowing if the ship has to say good-bye
You can jump back in with another dive

The next passing ship will soon come by
And in the ocean of life... you will survive !

I wanna hear about who it will be
Or is it LodgeManagers ships and the navy
and all those women in the Wavyies....

The summer is here, and we are suppose to cheer, lawn is green from the winter tears, the sky is blue, from God in heaven who gave us wind that blew, all the earth is alive, from the least to burden of beast, so many short month of sun and until it done. Circle of life has just begun, lets live every moment until we are done

The Sea

Four days or more, no land in sight,
God help protect us, be but one more night.
The sky now gray, the clouds turned black.
A storm be brewing, T'is responding fact.

Four days ago our ship went down,
Brave men perished, will I be found?
Be Gods will that I lasted this long.
Giving me time to repent my wrongs.

A crackling sound, a streak of light
Then thunder and rain, Oh tortured night.
The wind swept waves, savage fury released.
The sharks tonight will have their feast.

Now courage gone, my strength, my will.
I prayed oh Lord, create a still.
I sinned I know, now sorry I wept,
Deliver me God, with this I slept.

As the morning sun had awakened me.
I gazed with wonder, a peaceful sea.
And in the distance I saw some land.
With trees and earth, and golden sand.

Oh sea created by Gods own will.
With memories past, my mind you've filled.
But even though your curse I've fought.
This lesson sea, to me you've taught.

The lord's your savior, with him is light.
Believe, with courage he'll help you fight.
So on earth or sea, his way is best,
Thank you lord, with this I rest

How poignant the words on this page
They fly like birds from a cage
The power of God has sustained us
When fear and broken hearts detained us

But if God can pull man from the sea
In trouble, though he sought not to be
Surely He will work His pure magic
On broken hearts, He has the key

So we push through the pains of living
Because true hearts must keep on giving
For no tears, no fears, no pain
Means no hurt, no lessons, no gain

I've had enough of sadness now to last my whole life through
And that is one good reason that I write the stuff I do
I cannot write of sorrow or of all the things I've lost
I put them all behind me and forge on at any cost
I, too, have lost a husband in an accident so bad
That just to think about it makes me feel so very sad
Instead I think about the man who's come into my life
And someday, if God wills it, I might even be his wife
I start each day out smiling as he greets me with a kiss
And while he is at work each day, it's him I really miss
He makes it so much easier to let go of the past
Because I know he loves me and his love is gonna last
So, please forgive this poet for not crying in her beer
Believe me, there is love out there for everybody here

Like Wolfie, I, also, wish that the intense subject matter
Would change back to the short funny silly chatter.....
I am not a poet but it was fun to make up 4 ridiculous lines
Even though they didn't always rhyme.

Y'all are too good with your words
and I hope more people respond, even the nerds.....
Or Gary's blog will die
With one giant sigh.

Gary's poem about the sea
Was quite beautiful to me
A true story, I'm hoping it was not
But lots of memories it had brought

Smiles prefers to change the matter
To short,funny, silly chatter
Wolfie wants no more talk of sorrows
And MsEducator tells of Gods tomorrows

Now Gary is out there cutting the grass
And having a beer in a glass
So this will probably cause a riot
Does that mean he's off his diet?

Would you teach me the art
Of fishing with a spear ?

If you want to learn that
Read this here book

Cause here at the lodge
We use a rod and a reel
And if you stay three nights
I've got one helluva deal

Breakfast in bed
All the fish you can eat
And lots of fine ladies
That you'll want to meet

You're gonna love it
You'll have such a thrill
And when you check-out

Just a reminder to my Friends and the Poets on this post.
Our month on top is almost gone, thank you from the host.
I'm having to much fun to stop, so copy The Blogger's Poem .
Check us out from time-to-time; as through the blogs you roam.

Those of you on my "Friend's Network", thanks for dropping by,
Even if you didn't write a poem, at least you told me hi.
When I started this, with Smiles, it was supposed to be a joke.
But by the time we reached page ten, some serious poems were wrote.

If only one poem appears a week, I'll answer it with glee.
A way of thanking those that came, "appreciation" to you from me.
We had a great run and there is no reason to let this post die.
So again please "Watch this Post" and you'll see the reason why.

I was after something dishy,
So I brought a Mermaid suit,
Now come on little fishy,
Don't you think Im cute!

Im glad my locks are lengthy,
But I've arranged them still with care,
Cos those cheeky little Mermaids,
Don't have no underwear!

So I've got the boys attention,
But this wasn't a good whim,
Dancing is out of the question,
All I can do is swim!.

LodgeManager replies on 6/5/2008 9:43 pm:

But a mermaid to catch, Is this what I sought?

Some dreams come true and then it's over
We deserve to roll in fields of clover
But that's what life's about, under our sun
Making new friends and having some fun

This blog has been very challenging at times
Making up stories then making them rhyme
And we've shared some of our sorrow too
Of those, I admit, I've written a few

Gary, You've been a wonderful host
And Thank You for even starting this post
Some day soon you'll have a visit from me
We'll have a few beers and sing karaoke

There are so many others who caught my attention
That I'll Thank You all, with this one big mention
I've had a wonderful time reading your stories
About loving and fishing in all of their glories

Cariad and Cricket, I think you already know
Since we've been friends, right from the word GO
Some day I hope to meet the both of you
And shake your hands and give you hugs too

In the meantime, let me say this is not the end
I'll still be writing poems and sharing with my friends
This has been just great... like a giant poetry lab
Gary, whatever I owe, put on Jiminy's TAB

We've got Mermaids with no underpants
Butt some boys think they've gone to heaven
Someones sayin it doesn't rhyme
But Wolfie got here in the nick of time
A nice gal burnt the cake with the nuts
Maybe it was the sugar that was too much

And some were wish'in
for rolls in the clover
And send'in the tab
strait on over
Jiminy is the one to catch that tab
Unless he shows up
At this poetry lab
Although it may be not my place
To welcome the gal called Funnyface

Especially when something HOT's on the line!,
Catch me a live wire,for a wriggler I be,

Whilst we drink and feast well and all is just right,
Friendship and love are just one person away,

At last the sun came out today,
So friends and a camper van out for the day,
Down to the beach caught some great fish,
As I couldnt go swimming this was the next wish.

Though i've never been good at taking things slow,
campfire cooking was a good way to go,
But when Im recovered I'll swim round the bay,
And catch me a Merman for a bit of wey hey!

Exhausted but happy when I returned,
For this was the 'medicine' my soul had so yearned,
High as a kite like a Millionaire,
For friends are my riches beyond compare.

Just a quick post from your grateful host.
Thank you my friends, it's time for a toast.
I've been busy this week with a Chief's get-to-gether.
A great bunch of guys, who despite the weather.

Met here at my Fishing Lodge to have some fun.
We fished and partied despite the HOT SUN!
Now that it's over and everyone has gone home.
I can join my friends here at The Blogger's Poem

The picture below is taken at the Fire Pit.
But it was to hot, to have a fire in it.
So we played Horseshoes, drank beer and told some lies.
A great time was had by all, including the flies.

If the weather stays hot and I can't work outside.
I'll be back on SFF or take the houseboat for a ride.
Thank you; it's been a lot of fun, as we write and Rhyme.
Even though; what we say, may not make sense, most of the time.

Hello my dear Gary, you're busy indeed
It sounds like a break in the weather you need
I've been busy too, and it may sound absurd
But I've been outside just a'watching the birds
Up here in the forest, we have quite a few
It would take too much time now to name them for you
But my blue birds and chickadees have nests full of young
And every bird here has a song to be sung
The jays and the squirrels are having a fight
And the howling coyotes serenade me at night
Up here on the mountain, my soul is set free
But I loved the Swamp Lady when I was in NC
I wish I could be there to share in the bash
But my medical issues have eaten my cash
So, give my regards to the people attending
And maybe I'll see you when I am through mending
Luv ya, Wolfie

Was watching TV, a rare 'quiet' night,
When 'Noodling' for catfish came into sight,
Yes I could gut it,bleed it,skin it as well,
But catching by hand seems to be hell!

Apparently it is a fabulous eat,
Worth all the effort for such a fine treat,
Now I've studied the method of'hands on' and 'hold tight'
So beware all you Mermen out swimming tonight.!!

I always knew you were a buster
But insurance? I would not have guessed
Aren't there some jerky requirements?
Some crazy government test?

Me? I'm some kind of Controller
But lately I've been out of control
I can't even account for my actions
And I've misplaced my fishin' pole

Soon my son and his wife come home
It's almost two years they've been away
But the Air Force wants them back on Guam
I'm gonna cherish all six days!

It seems like yesterday Mseducator closed out page seven.
With a group like this, dropping by from time-to-time.
We can go on forever, with this "Wit and Rhyme".

Insuring life's odd 'whoopsa daisy',
Has driven Poor ole 'buster' crazy,
His eyes are fixed with manic stare,
And words fly out as if in dare!

Who'll compensate for such a loss?
Does anybody give a toss?
YES! We your friends on the SFF site,
Will fix you sound and get you right.

We love you for your cheeky grin,
And devilish humour from within,
That charm which makes the ladies melt,
And the 'Beast' who sleeps below your belt!!!

HEHE! CHEEKY THAT'S ME!!

I thought I saw a Merman,
one dark and sultry night,
With gorgeous rippling muscles,
And his vest so good and tight!
My passion soared,my heart beat boomed,
And was heard by all the nation,
I woke and rubbed my bleary eyes,
Damn! just medication!!

LodgeManager replies on 6/11/2008 2:24 pm:
Damn; I need that medication, I drink a beer and I see beauty.
I wake up in the morning with a heated kiss and it's my dog Rudy.

I'm no poet, I know that well,
and if I forget you'll surely tell,
that I should sit in the corner and read
til I find the one and follow his lead.

So pay no attention to me dear friends.
My creative streak, it has no end,
but instead of writing a poem, that's certain.
I'm much better at sewing curtains.

I shoulda checked View All,
When it comes to poems,
I'm off to the mall.

Poems are definitely not one of my strong things as you see. Ann

Hello my friends, I’ve been away
But Oh! how I have missed YOU
Been fishing up yonder, Montana way
Where The Land of The Big Sky is blue

Now, Montana fish love to splash and play
And will leap right into your canoe
Why, I could spend the live long day
Just fishing and taking in the view

And although I am mighty tempted to stay
I find I’ve missed The Blogger’s Poem too
So here I am, stopping in to say
“Hello” to everyone, and to shout out a BIG Yoo Hoo!

Hope springs eternal in the of a Hopeless Romantic ~

LodgeManager replies on 6/11/2008 2:32 pm:
Yoo Hoo; that sounds like a country star.
But alas my friend, you live to far.
Or you and I would catch a BIG fish.
Now that's a fact and not just a wish.

So there y'all are
You didn't go far
I searched the site
Wished on a star

It's nice to see
The POEM still grows
I'll add one small
And there it goes

LodgeManager replies on 6/11/2008 2:35 pm:

My good friend Gar
Has prodded me so
To make a rhyme
For the poem to grow.

So here I am
With words to whet
Appetites of friends
I haven't met.

To turn a page like that
Requires something I ain't got
So maybe I'll just go for it
Oh what the heck, why not!

I tried the merman suit on
The fit was kinda tight
I squirmed and wiggled some more
And gave it my best fight

The shoulders show off very well
But it's real tight down below
My mating call's not the same now
Cause I'm calling in soprano

LOL wishes, dear sweet wishes
You slay me with those words
How beautiful to see you
Lighthearted, like the birds

But please steer clear of merman's suits
One time is time enough
Cause once that 'stuff' is tugged and squeezed
You can't strut in the buff!

LodgeManager replies on 6/12/2008 9:05 am:
Strut in the buff what an interesting sight.

Wishes my dear and sweetest friend,
You are a silly fellow,
You've got my suit that's why its tight,
And your bits are turning yellow!

This one here says STUD XL,
No wonder hugs is happy,
The quiet ones are the worst they say,
You sure are a rampant chappie!!

Hello there MsEducator
I've been wondering how you be
I'm so lighthearted these days
The birds are scared of me!

Squeezed in my merman suit
I get one terrific kind of sensation
I may not be struttin' in the buff
But little is left, to the imagination

Fisher boy, Fisher boy catch me a dream,
That floats with the Moonlight,
On an ethereal stream.
Gilded with Rainbows,woven with love,
Handled with care from the power above,
Shining forever,Drawing me near,
Making me stronger,losing my fear.
I touch the essence twixt Heaven and Earth,
And walk through the shadows prepared for rebirth.

a little 'off the wall' maybe .. but hey what whirls in the 'mist of the mind' deserves to find it's voice!

Cariad you are a busy poetic bee
sucking nectar from words, I see
I thought you you were a mermaid under the sea
searching for a merman like wishes or me.

So now I wonder about this bee thing
and the nectar that your words do bring
Is it the pistole or the pedal your flowering?
Or am I behind...waiting for the sting

LodgeManager replies on 6/12/2008 9:22 am:

Sonnets of love
Do not glide on summer air
As does
the jilted tornadoes ride
For love is
hiding every where
when disappointment is
easily found inside

wrote this on another blog...figured appropriate for here, and that since this is blog is going to last forever. I can save it for my grandchildren

As promised to Lodgemanager here goes>
TO THE BEACH I DID GO
SUNRISES & SUNSETS WERE ALL A GLOW
THE TEQUILA SHOTS WERE FREE
BRINGING OUT THE BEST IN ME

THOUGHT OF FRIENDS, NEW AND OLD
ALL THE STORIES THAT WERE TOLD
ABOUT WISHES, CRICKETT TO NAME A FEW
WONDERING IF THEY WERE REALLY TRUE.

While spending a few days at the beach, no internet, I could
not wait to return home to read about all of you. To Lodgemanager,
the Host of this great post, you are number one and this post has
only begun!

May you always have LOVE to share, HEALTH to spare & FRIENDS that care.

When yesterday I came back here
To catch up on some words
I saw sugar cutting a jig
And chirping like the birds

It's good 2 C her still around
She didn't go underground
She kicked some sand, held glass in hand
And came back poetry bound.

LodgeManager replies on 6/12/2008 3:09 pm:

THREW THEM UP TO THE LOFT
GOOD THING I WAS ALONE
FOR THIS BODY NEED NOT BE SHOWN.

Tennessee girl living in the big city
Dancing her dance and feeling real pretty
Laughing with the boys and having no pity
Flashing her smile and doing her diddy.

North Carolina, a down home state
Beach, wine, dine? Hey, what's that date?
Awwww crap! She sits back with a sigh...
How could she forget: No longer does she fly!

But ChiChi made the trip, Smiles has pic in hand
Too much sun did burn her, yet proudly she does stand
Smiles and Lodge, for sure, will treat her very well...and
I don't need no sun because I'm permanently tanned!

LodgeManager replies on 6/13/2008 7:10 am:

Silk and lace or leather so tight,
Whatever you fancy for your delight,
For this Mermaid is saucy and will spoil you well,
So long as you promise to not kiss and tell!!

Hold me by Moonlight and look in my eyes,
And guess what im planning for your big surprise.
Each wish shall be granted and each fantasy filled,
For I leave all my Mermen exhausted but thrilled!

She parked her car and went to the Lodge's den.
It was love at first site, the men flocked around.
She wined and dined and became the talk of the town.
