To summer_lane49 I just think we should continue our discussion on pantuns on a new blog. Malay pantuns are usually a verse with 4 lines. The message is in the last two lines. The first and second lines are irrelevant and are written just to rhyme with the last two lines. Example: As the flakes of snow Melt in the dew I want you to know That I love you Okay, now you have the choice of either replying to this pantun or translate the one below. Langsat, nangka, durian dan rambutan Ada yang manis, ada yang masam Oldboy sentiasa di dalam ingatan Pada pagi, petang dan malam Katapatan ko ako kung mahal kita Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past |

Hi glorieux, shirl is right. It is lansones. Anyway, I have posted a picture of the langsat fruit above. It is also known as duku or dokong. Dokong has a thicker skin and is sweeter. Your dialect (Tagalog?) has a lot of similarities with the Malay language like lintah and anak. Summer is not my beloved. Her beloved is Oldboy. We were just discussing pantuns and Tagalog. The Tagalog sentence that I wrote in my post is taught by summer. She says it means "Have a nice day". p.s. In Malay, mahal = costly or dear kita = all of us aku = I Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past

Hi shirl, I like langsat more than buah rambai. Later it was duku langsat but now, dokong is more popular. We used to import dokong from Thailand but now it is grown in the northern states like Kelantan, Trengganu, Kedah and even Gerik. I think you are referring to San Ker (hill songs) where the boys will be on one hill, the girls on another and they challenge each other with songs (instead of poems). I think pantun may have evolved from that. By the way shirl, it is now durian and rambutan season now and the aroma of durians is wonderful. Hi summer, Congratulations! You got it spot on and so, as a prize, the pantun is yours. And to thank you for the Tagalog lesson, TUNAY OLDBOY MAHAL. I think he should be very happy. Salamat ng marami sa iyo. Hey, you did not reply to the first pantun. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past

Lee wrote >langsat...It is also known as duku or dokong. Not strictly true , as they are different fruit, but closely related. Duku, langsat, and duku langsat are actually 3 different fruits, but all belonging to the same family. Tetapi semua sedap http://seniorfriendfinder.com http://seniorfriendfinder.com
