Your pictures always bring so many questions to my mind. Do people eat the chestnuts and sweet potatoes right there, or are they things that are taken home? Were there tables there also so they could eat them there?
Do the ladies wear the masks as sanitary precautions as they are cooking?

This is a roadside stall without tables or chairs. The chestnuts and sweet potatoes can be eaten there or taken home. The masks are most probably to protect themselves from the smoke as pointed out. It could also be because the air in Hongkong is polluted.

Maybe they are wearing masks to protect themselves from the smoke?

That is very possible. I hadn't thought of that.

Wonderful to see other ways of life. Like I could by a hot dog, bag of popcorn or corn on the cob and walk down the street eating and watching life go by. Thanks Lee.
