Friday's Bouquet

Along the railway line linking Ha Noi to Ho Chi Minh city, you can find houses very close to the tracks like these.

Interesting. Living as far from my neighbors as I do, I can not even imagine living that close to other people....... and definitely can not imagine living that close to a passing train.
Thank you for a look into a world that I will never see in person.

Thank you for the comments. The line is 1700km long and 4 trains run per day. However, at every town or village that the train runs through, houses and shops are built very close to the track. Vietnam reminds me of life in the 1960s with motorcycles zooming at you from every direction. The number of cars has gone up a lot too so driving there is frightening. Although the economy has improved a lot, the cost of living is very high too. But I like the place. It may be a socialist (or communist?) country but capitalism is thriving. Everyone works hard for a living; from the street vendors to the rich thriving eateries.
