Friday's Bouquet

I have seen this plant in my country many times before but this is the first time I see its flowers - in the Australian winter.

I agree with Rosie. It is beautiful but looks far too delicate to make it through a winter. We have another variety here but the flowers are different and it doesn't do well even in our mild winters.

Hi Roses,

It does resemble a yucca but I do not know what plant it is. In my country, it is a common garden plant because of its colour.

Do not be too hard on yourself, JAN. Thus is the only one I saw in Brisbane although it is quite common in my country.

Wow! That is really spectacular, Lee. Such a deep color.

Hi Poet,

This plant thrives in sunshine and is usually planted in the garden. It is common in a Malaysia but I have never seen it flower before. Maybe, it is one of those century plants that flowers once in a hundred years.
