Retirement Day I retired yesterday, although I'm going back today for one last time for a retirement party, so I can say goodbye to folks. I don't know that I'll stay retired, but I had a difficult year and I decided, as I approached 62, that I wanted to step away from it all--at least for a while. Right now, I still have a few urgent decisions to make about healthcare and separation agreements and such, but the pressure is starting to ease some for me. I'm not quite sure what I'll do with myself for the 4-6 months sabbatical I've promised myself--increasing my exercise routine will certainly be part of what I do with the sudden leisure, but beyond that, I don't have any firm plans. For this week, though, I plan some serious lolligagging. |

You will love it! I planned to go back to work after a few months off - never happened! I am just too busy, and cannot even think about having to go to a job.

Hi Chris: Hope you enjoy your retirement party. I stopped working a few years ago and it took awhile to adjust to a totally new lifestyle, but whatever you end up doing with your days it sure beats having to go to work.

I thought I retired at 58 but find myself working almost as much as ever - although it is for myself on my own schedule and income is better than it has ever been. Spiritwoman ^i^
