As a woman, she's a baby bird
That never quite gets fed,
And her mates roughhouse her in her nest,
So she keeps close to her bed.

As she thinks the whole world's but a waste,
And she wishes she could leave;
But they haven't built her house as yet-
Is that why the lady grieves?

Aso she goes, as on she trods,
And cries and sobs and moans,
Declaring life is but a sham,
And they won't leave her alone.

But she wishes they would talk to her,
And she wishes she had friends;
What's she missing? She already has-
Does the lady comprehend?

If it wasn't for her failing health,
She might see things differently,
But in this life that we all live,
There are no guarantees.

This is for an elderly lady who lives in my building.She has raging diabetes,has had stokes and has been in and out of the hospital to the degree that sometimes when I talk with her,I cant decide whether swhat some things she says are real or imaginary.

She definitely does think the other people avoid her like the plague or when they notice her,talk bad about her,and so she is constantly in turmoil,which must bother her husband who's patiently watching out for her.To be sure,he has his hands full.
