Don't Get Around Much Any More, but I wasn't sleepy and thought I'd drop by for a while.
Thinking about the "TATOO CONTEST" Red has talked about had me watching LA Ink tonight.
My initial reaction to tatoos was ewwwwwwww!
As I watched however I became interested in the stories of those individuals who were having them done.
Still don't think I would want something permanently tatooed onto my body but I have to admit-some folks have engaging reasons for having them.
What struck me most though was the young lady called Cat VonD, a tatoo artist who has started her own shop in Hollywood.
Her way of life would be totally foreign to me(probably most of us) but her committment, ability, focus, hard work, vision, and love are truly amazing for someone so young.
Made me want to get up and get busy on my latest "What If" plan.
Ya just never know where your next inspiration is coming from do ya?

Linda

Yes I saw her advertized and thought to myself...omg she needs help and I sure didn't find her legs attractive.
Thoughts oh yes the thoughts....gosh she did find a way to make big bucks though. I think I'll use another road.

hugs

only in the end shall I take flight.

Linda, I saw a small story on ABC news that "Corporate America" is taking a new stand on hiring people with tattoos that show. They gave some reasons, I don't remember them, of course. However, one factor was the image that they represent to new clients, etc. However, the commentator did say that tattos are now more popular than ever. One company is asking employees to cover them up. Strange world we live in.

Linda I agree, that wouldn't be the way I'd want to make my living, but I admire her for knowing what she wants and making it happen.
Wish I had had that much drive and focus when I was her age.
But I certainly don't think it is too late for us to reach our loftiest goals.

Dear Msladybug,
I apologize to you for not responding to your comment. I have always appreciated your comments on my blogs and you have never left a comment on anyone's blog that I have ever seen that could be taken as an offense. Please accept my apology. As to why?...I can see by the times showing that you entered your comment before I wrote one to Missioncontrol, but your comment wasn't showing when I responded to her. It might have something to do with the fact that the entire blog went missing for a while but I don't know for sure. At any rate, you did leave an interesting response. I have never cared for the look of tatoos and was brought up with that unfair judgement that people who had them were lower class people. I think this prejudice is one thing that is driving the corporate world to take the stand they do. However, I have learned that my former prejudice against tatoos and the people who have them is inaccurate. It has become my daily prayer that I have discernment, an ability to see
and respond to people according to their heart not their appearance. Just yesterday I admired the elaborate tatoo of a young man in the checkout lane at WalMart. There was no opportunity to speak as it was an express lane. But I really would have liked to hear his reason for choosing the theme he did...a large wolf's head with a large feather hanging down from it with a tiny longhorn skull connecting the two. Now I no longer cringe when I see someone with a tatoo. Instead I am curious about the story behind it.
Please now dear ladybug, let's choose to continue to be friends. I would like that very much.
