GRANDPUPPY!!!
Her name is Pearl, a miniature poodle. Pearl weighs less than a pound. At six weeks of age she is nothing but a puffy ball of peach fluff with black shoe button eyes. And every ounce of her is absolutely adorable.
Back when I moved into this apartment a friend sent me a beautiful arrangement of flowers that had a tiny white Teddy Bear attached. Yesterday when we brought Pearl home we found she is exactly the same size.
My daughter Lynette is a dog groomer and the manager of a grooming salon for PetSmart, who has plans to have her own salon later on as well as breeding poodles. She already owns a beautiful standard poodle named Honey who will be bred for the first time in September.
Honey is the hit of many of the "Puppy Parties" they have at PetSmart. She has been dyed pink or lavender with matching toenails and coordinating bows. Honey can do tricks too; like jumping through hoops, dancing on her back legs and the usual "play dead", "roll over" and etc.
Pearl is part of this plan but it will be a couple of years before she will be bred. Until then she will just be our Babydoll.
Most days Lynette will take her to work with her but on Saturdays she is too busy for that to be a good idea. Soooo, I GET TO PUPPY SIT!!! Can you tell I am excited?
If you happen to be in the area let me know. Pearl and I would love to invite you over for Tea and doggy biscuits!

Classic, So happy to see you writing! Enjoy your weekend with Pearl. Poodles are they such fun dogs, plus they are clean. Thanks but no thanks on the tea and dog biscuits LOL Have a great weekend!
1942CLASSIC replies on 7/6/2007 1:04 pm: Hi msladybug, Thank you for stopping by. I just read the message you left on my home page. That was really sweet of you. I didn't write for a while because I was kinda down and I hate to be spreading depression. Then suddenly things took an up turn and I got so busy I didn't have time. Now I think things are coming more into balance and I will be posting when I have something to say. BTW, I think I could come up with something more appetizing than dog biscuits if you came by! |

I just experienced de ja vieu Not sure of that spelling. My oldest sister was a dog groomer and started with Poodles and her Male was named Honey an appricot Poodle then she got him a female and started breeding then moved to Arizona and opened her own shop there and got into Boston's Showing and Breeding, Had Handlers who took her dog's to shows! Dogs can be Big Business, you gotta love it. I have one Little Girl Shih tzu who is precious to me and two Little Granddogs! They are also very cute mixed breeds but I love em too. Closest thing I have to a Granddaughter LOL

1942CLASSIC replies on 7/6/2007 9:02 pm: Oh my goodness Lady. Deja vu is right. And would you believe, in addition to Honey and Pearl, Lynette also has a shihtzu named Snuffy. Leslie, my younger daughter, has Snuffy's brother Hubble. Our family does love dogs and kids! |

awwwwww......my little black mini-Pom would love to come for doggie biscuits.........!! She's all of 4 lbs since she's been clipped for the summer and she's my baby.
Life is too short for moaning and complaining, life is for living it to the fullest. AND I DO!
1942CLASSIC replies on 7/6/2007 9:05 pm: Honey, Poms are adorable. Lynette showed one for a friend who breeds them and we all fell in love with him. His name was Bear and he was the cuddliest puppy I have ever seen. I hated to see her take him home. |

Put the tea water on to boil. I'll be right over. I won't get bit will I?
This is just a personal opinion, but life is more fun if you can find time to laugh.
1942CLASSIC replies on 7/6/2007 9:08 pm: Hi Treasurehunter! Pearl is too tiny to do much biting but maybe a few friendly nibbles and a puppy kiss or two could be expected. Tea is brewing, when do you expect to arrive? |

Oh how adorable.....my bichon would have loved her, mothered her as well while you and I catchup on the latest!
1942CLASSIC replies on 7/6/2007 9:13 pm: Destiny, bichons are also lovely dogs. I'm sure Pearl would enjoy her companionship. She was the only female in a litter of three and probably misses her mother and brothers. She does still have canine company with Snuffy and Honey. But neither of them are very motherly. Hopefully Honey will acquire that trait when she is bred. |

With four grandsons, it is nice to have a little girl to spoil.
I have a place all ready for Pearl's first sitting session tomorrow.
She is so tiny I got a large see through pale blue storage box for her to be in when I am busy with housework, etc.
In it are a tiny pink dish for her food and water, a puppy training pad, a ball to chase, a pink teddy bear that is 4 times as big as she is and the softest blue blanket I have ever seen.
I am going to bed early as she will arrive about 6:30 am. I can hardly wait.

1942Classic: You will have a ball. We have a chihuhua-minipincer that we picked up last year at the Vermont Humane Society and he is the best dog anyone could want. We call him toughie, he is so spoiled. I had a min poodle once his name was Gino and he was also a wonderful dog along with my shih tzu Suzie. They are very comforting to say the least. Toughie is turning around to be daddy's dog but I love it. Some time will send you a picture of his form of swimming with us in the pool. Glad to see you blogging again.
Lucy
1942CLASSIC replies on 7/9/2007 9:08 pm: I'm sure Toughie is a real brute! Lynette once had a silky terrier she called Killer. Then decided he needed a companion so got a second one and called him Killer's Buddy. No matter their size, shape or color, dogs have such a wonderful spirit, you can't help but love them. |

I love my granddogs, too. No puppies any more, but they're still loving and lovable pups to me.
I know I don't have to tell you to have fun with yours. It's already crystal clear you will.

Well I just love animals classic dogs, cats, birds....you name it! and you could sing to them with your beautiful voice!
We are the leaves of one branch, the drops of one sea, the flowers of one garden.
1942CLASSIC replies on 7/9/2007 9:14 pm: You sound much like Lynette and Leslie. Although they have focused on dogs they have always loved all sorts of "critters". We have been host to snakes, turtles, chameleons, fish, frogs, rabbits, squirrels, cats, an iguana, hermit crabs, and several different types of birds including an orphaned bluejay. Thank you for the compliment. Coming from you, with your singing ability, that is really special. |
