Hi Roxy: Great blog. I can just imagine how a lot of Americans, especially those from border States, must feel about the huge burden on the taxpayer all these many millions of illegal immigrants are causing. There are so many different countries all over the world full of poor people who would like a shot at a better life, and I feel sorry for them, but surely the U.S. taxpayer can't be expected to take care of them all just because they sneak into the country.

I heard that 'coyotes' charge about $5,000. to escort someone from Central America to the U.S. border. For that same money, the person could hire a lawyer in Central America and file a proper legal application for refugee status to the U.S.

It bothers me that the politicians don't seem to understand what the word "illegal" means. These people (and the children) are "illegal immigrants" By that very fact, they are criminals and they should all be sent back where they came from.

I am a legal immigrant, and you would not believe the hoops they have made me jump through. They once sent me back to England, because years before, when I was in the military, I had entered the US without a passport. Even though, being a member of the military, I wasn't breaking any rules, I was allowed to enter the country without a passport. I had to pay a lawyer to sort that one out.

But it appears that if you are here illegally they will look after you, find a nice place for you to stay and let you remain. Is it any wonder that people like me get very upset about this?

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Those kids are being sent to the US because of violence in several Central American nations.

I heard the case of on woman who was told her three teenage daughters had to be turned over to a gang.

She went into hiding with her children immediately, and is trying to get them into the US to live with relatives.

What would you do in her circumstances?

People are fleeing into Lebanon, Jordan, and Kurdistan for much the same reasons.

One might try to remember who it was who signed a bill that prevents the deportation of children from countries other than Mexico.
