Trump on the Ridiculous Imaginary War on Christmas

I am more of a fan for the First Amendment versus the Second Amendment and the Government should absolutely stay out of Religion. This protect people of faith and the people who question or have no faith as well.

I am certain that posting the ten commandments in the congressional buildings could be problematic because it is instructing certain senators and representatives to abstain from cheating, stealing, adultery and coveting.

So now, Trump has tweeted that we will ALL be saying Merry Christmas. Dah! I can assure him that Christmas is alive and well. It starts on Labor Day and ends with the After Christmas Sales. Most of the Cashiers would greet the customers with Merry Christmas while some would say Happy Holidays. There were a few who simply said "Thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart." I would say, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Yuletyme Greetings or whatever the customer wanted.

When the Holiday arrived, I would say what I want. Bah Humbug! My boys and I would head to the Chinese Restaurant.

I agree 100%! Starwomyn

What greeting we give others doesn't matter a jot. It's the thought behind it, that counts...at least that's what I was always taught.
And I needn't be a Christian to wish others well at Christmas...the wish is for them...not me.

If Christians wish me Merry Christmas...I accept with good grace because I know it's meant well.
There's absolutely no need for all the fuss!!!

You are fond of schooling us in your country's magical constitution that American's freedoms are given to them by God, not by people.....You claim that this distinction makes the US exceptional.

But whenever you talk about Muslim Americans and Central American Americans,
then you say that it is "this country" who has "given" them those rights........people who you think want to "take over" the cultures of "this country".........As if they aren't free in the same way you are free.....as Christians are free.........You know of course, that Christians took over America from others......and changed the society to reflect their own ideas.........And did it over and over.......

Somebody told Don Trump that there were votes to be had by blubbering every ridiculous Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly talking point they gave him. Trump is a good little parrot and it's working.

This reminds me of the time O'Reilly tried to tell David Letterman that we're not allowed to say Merry Christmas anymore. Letterman replied 'well Bill I pretty much do whatever I want'.

Grumpy and I faced the dilemma of "who gets the kids for the holiday. His, mine no ours. We finally decided to do the presents and celebration for the kids on a weekend day closest to Yule. The other parent celebrated with the kids on the actual Christmas while we went out for Chinese. Now my younger son and I maintain that tradition because neither of us want to cook or clean up. I will ask him what he wants for Christmas and he usually gets me a Farmer's Almanac. Last year, we did take the train to Atlanta to spend the holiday with my older son and his wife. Ironically, my daughter-in-law cooked Chinese Cuisine. It would drive Grumpy crazy when I would take the boys shopping and have them pick out their presents. The only one who wouldn't know what he got was Grumpy. LOL!

I have never seen what's wrong with simply wishing everyone a Fabulous Festivus.
