McCain and Duckworth on Transgendered in the Military

"There is no reason to force service members who are able to fight, train, and deploy to leave the military — regardless of their gender identity," Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. John McCain said in the statement. "We should all be guided by the principle that any American who wants to serve our country and is able to meet the standards should have the opportunity to do so — and should be treated as the patriots they are."

According to Duckworth - The military spends more on Viagra than they do hormone therapy.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth, a double amputee veteran of the Iraq War, is slamming President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender Americans serving in the military.
Duckworth said in a statement Wednesday that when her Black Hawk helicopter was shot down, she didn’t care “if the American troops risking their lives to help save me were gay, straight, transgender or anything else. All that mattered was they didn’t leave me behind.”
The Illinois senator said anyone willing to risk their lives for their country should be able to serve no matter gender or sexual orientation or race.
She said, “Anything else is discriminatory and counterproductive to our national security.”

Senators McCain and Duckworth serve in the Military and paid a high price for serving. I am more inclined to take their prospective seriously versus #45. Trump would criticize them for "getting caught" but Trump used five deferments from the military during the Vietnam War so that he didn't even have to try.

Trying to understand what makes Trump tick, maybe his past behaviour is an indication of why Trump is slamming transgenders now. So many times in the past when something damaging to Trump comes out, Trump creates some phony distraction. His unending abuse of Sessions, his banning of transgenders.....are these distractions to divert our attention from something else.....

There are already 15,000 transgendered persons in the military who are honorable serving and doing just fine. This is just #45's attempt create much ado about nothing for political gain.

This is basically the same argument that was used against women in the military, gay people, atheists in the military, and even non-Christians.
It's the old "atheist in a foxhole" argument...wasn't true then, and it certainly is not true now.

If you had even a small amount of empathy at all for those men and women you wouldn't have said this...
" The military is not a finishing school or a Drag Queen Show. it is supposed to kill enemies- not knit them a sweater"

That sure shows the level of your so called "empathy"

Not all heroes look like Big Arnie!
