Okay, here we are!  I'm excited about this. A couple of people have already posted their own blogs with their pictures and I will provide a link to those in a comment below this blog.This is my Senior High School picture, taken in 1968.  I did a search last night and found the following poem that I liked and thought I would include. It was written by a man named Albert Huffstickler on his 69th birthday - Dec 17, 1996 Don't Ask The Angels How They Fly Knowing there's only so much time, I don't rejoice less but more. Knowing how many things will now not happen, I wish them Godspeed and pass them on to someone down the line. I honor my regrets, the part of me that never happened or happened wrong and proceed on course though the course is not known. Only the end is known and some days it's a comfort. We live on love, whether it's there or not and rejoice in it even in its absence. If I had known, I'd have come here better equipped - but that's another one of those things you can't change - as we can't alter that part of us that lives on memory, knowing all the while that time is not real and that what we are we never were in the light of that timeless place where we really belong, have belonged always. And what's left then is only to bless it all in the light of what we don't and will never know or at least not here where the light is only a shadow of that light we almost see sometimes - that light that's really home. Shay, unfortunately, you (anyone) are not able to place your picture in the comment section by typing [image] only (note the type of bracket too). The only way you can do that is to do it on your own blog ... check my blog from yesterday for instructions. I want to see what you looked like! 60minman ... it now shows up on my blog .... wowzer, very nice to the eyes! No I can't .... I already posted a comment to Shay earlier to let her know that doing it that way does not work on my blog. HOWEVER, IF you do that on your blog ... in the comment section, it should work. First off, the brackets need to be these [ ] Not these ( ). Type the word image in brackets: [image] ... then at the bottom of your blog, click on your browser button and it will take you to your own pc files. Select the picture you want, double click and the address location will show up in the blank box to the left of the browser box. Once you submit, your picture should show up on your blog. I can then place a link on my blog to your blog so everyone can see it. Shay, you have to do the same with yours. It does not show up on this blog the way you did it. Sorry. Shay and Dallas, I can only assume that the problem has to do with the fact that you are following some instructions that only work if you are a gold or silver member. Since I am a standard member, you can't show the pictures that way on my blog. Only if it is a photo already on your profile and then you would get the photo number and then in brackets [ ] type the word photo, the number of the photo, a space and then your handle. I.E. (Where #=the photo number) [photo# dallas49] Hopefully, we'll get this straightened out. "The cheapest face lift is a laugh"

This is the only thing I can figure ...... but because I am a standard member, I (nor any other standard member) are not able to view photos that you place in the comment section of this blog by typing the word "[image]". Ola, you've done a Great project here -- Thank You Many Times. All my pix (and everything else I owned) were destroyed in the process of my cross-country move back to MN. However, a cousin sent me a bunch of old snapshops she couldn't use in her albums --- one of me holding my oldest babe at 3 months of age -and- that one includes (unfortunately) my dh, as well. I haven't figured out how to 'crop' that pic to make my dh vanish. I'll talk with a few photo-geek friends, see whether the 'crop' can be done without sending the actual photo cross-country for someone other than myself to do all the work. That's way more than enough about me/my non-photo. Thanks again to everyone who participated to make this a huge success! Elle

The pictures are wonderful!!! Reminds me of my high school and college days. One year ago I sold my house and wasn't doing well, so my friends hired a dumpster and helped empty the house and keep what I wanted. The only thing is they never asked me what I wanted!! So they threw away all my YEAR BOOKS & SCHOOL PICTURES. I didn't have a picture of myself to show but recently MAX made a Bling of my Cat, Rocky. So here is MY PICTURE, Julia8114

As I commented on another blog, the response and participation of this far exceeded my expectations and I am so happy it turned out so successful. It is fun to take a trip down memory lane with everyone. I hope people continue to post their old pictures here. Julia: What a tragedy that your friends threw your pictures away! Also, they say pet owners look a lot like their pets ~ lol, I do see some resemblance between you and Rocky. I had a short haired black and white, Sissie, and she was a beauty too. Comtessa, hope SFF gets around to approving your pic, but I wouldn't be to surprised if they didn't, being that it is a baby picture. However, some have been able to, so we can hope! Stillwater, yes, that is the unfortunate, when its a photo chosen as your main picture ... because it will change if you change your main profile picture. Do me a favor. Go to your home page and to "edit photos" .... check and see what number is assigned to your sailor photo. Then come back to this blog and do a new comment. In the comment box, type [photo# Stillwatertoo] Note: #=the number assigned to the picture. Be sure and use these type of brackets [ ] and not these ( ). Your sailor photo should then be permanently posted. (unless you delete it completely from your profile pictures.) "The cheapest face lift is a laugh"
