...and it made such a difference!!!
Today is October 1st and I haven't had a day off since September 10th. I am tired and overly sensitive. Someone I think very highly of, quite unintentionally hurt my feelings and guess where I went to feel better. I had an overwhelming need to read back over the blogs I have posted here and more importantly, to read the responses you have left for me. I wonder if you realise the impact you have on someone's life when you leave these little bits of support, encouragement, advice, warnings, empathy? As I read back over things I am sure you have forgotten you ever said I was moved at times to tears, smiles, and a couple of times laughing out loud. Some of you have become close friends over the past few months and I am bolstered by your ongoing communication. Others have disappeared from the blog pages but not from my heart. I just want you to know you are appreciated more than you can imagine.

Rain rhythms on tin River patterns on windows Eiderdown, soft, warm
One silken garment Floating softly to the floor Rose petal fragrance
Glide into the night Face lifted to black velvet Breeze awakens, taunts
Silent, midnight hour Silver rain on honey skin Trace peaks and valleys
Distant drums rumble Brilliant flashes rip the sky Goddess of the night

...in this ridiculous day!!! 'Cause it is eluding me so far! Probably because I am so tired. Today is my fourth 16 hour day in a row. I actually had 3 days with some help last week. I have in 94 hours for the week ending today. Anyway, they called me from the agency admin offices this morning and said someone would relieve me this morning. By 11:30 I realised it wasn't gonna happen. Loaded up Miss Dora and carried books in for audit. By the time I got there the bookeeper had gone to lunch so had to leave them. From there I went to the Pony Mailbox to ship Mature's birthday gift. I had gotten an estimate 2 weeks ago but the girl who gave it had not allowed for the packing materials and the cost had doubled by the time she got it packed up. I kinda choked when she told me; but he is special and I said "Let's do it!" As she was filling out the forms she said "Have you considered that he may have to pay customs on this?" Hmmmmm I asked her if she could give me an idea what customs would run. She told me she didn't know about going to the UK but Mexico charges 500%. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Shipping has been put on hold at least temporarily!!! From there I took Dora to Chik-Fil-A for lunch (one of her favorite places). They have milk shakes now and Dora loves them. At only 95 pounds she can drink all of them she wants! LOL Since I needed to go back to agency to pick up books and checks for groceries, etc. I gave her the milkshake to drink in the car. We hadn't gone 3 blocks when she spilled it all over her. So instead we had to go home and get her and the car cleaned up. While I was cleaning the car she finished the shake and has now gone to bed for a nap and I can't go back to get the checks until tomorrow. I wish I had just stayed in bed!!! Thanks for listening to me rant. Gonna go take a nap and restore my usual serene state of mind. Hope your day is going great!!! And if it isn't, as soon as I wake up I'll make you a cuppa and pastries and listen as long as you like!!!

...Tonight's sunset was spectacular! We had finished our burgers and everyone else had retreated to the house. I stayed at the pavillion to watch the fire die down. It was so peaceful. In the last glow of light across the field before me two does and a fawn ran and jumped playfully. Music played softly in the background.
If only you had been there to share it with me. If only you had been there to kiss me goodnight.

HA HA GOTCHA!!!
I am referring to the numerous questions about why a person would choose not to put a picture on with their profile.
In my case, that little silhouette is probably better looking! lol
It is true that the physical appearance of someone is part of the attraction, and for some people it is the only reason needed to contact another. That is certainly their prerogative.
Personally, I rather like the anonymity of no picture at first, allowing someone who might be interested to focus on the way I express myself and the things I do and enjoy.
Which brings me to the title of this short blog. If you contact me, we converse and we are both interested in learning more; I will happily email or snail mail you current photos. And if you have chosen not to post your photo with your profile I would expect to receive one from you at that time.

Looking back at my blog "DEFINING THE SITUATION" I see that I am now on step #3;Gathering information and ideas on the details of my retirement. I have made a list of ideas that I am considering:
Where will I live and what will I drive- A log cabin in the woods by a large creek or river a house in the country, a house in a subdivision, an RV, a truck with a camper, a tour bus
Will I be alone, married, or have housemate(s)
How can I include my favorite activities...church involvement, decorating, gardening, running, walking, hiking, ballroom dancing, yoga, painting, Ebaying, traveling, photography, art classes, spa treatments, reading, tv, movies, entertaining family and friends, writing, music
Will I be in the US, or another country
And how will I take care of my health
A lot going on here, and still much to do. The next step, according to Richard's guide is to evaluate each option. Hmmmm This is such an organized way to go about this. I think I am making some progress.
Please give me your thoughts and ideas on retirement as I continue this quest. All your suggestions will have a real impact.

DEFINING THE SITUATION....

Recently RichardJohnson posted an excellent blog on making good decisions. Step one in his guide was defining the situation; what problem needs solving or what improvements need to be made??? I decided to use this plan to make some decisions concerning my retirement. Breaking the problem down into smaller parts:where to live, how to afford, health issues, how to spend my autumn years most enjoyably. The deadline for these decisions to be made and the resulting plan to be put into action: August 2008. How long would I be affected by these decisions:the rest of my life. Just saying that out loud certainly adds weight to the importance of making good decisions in this arena. It would be possible to reverse these decisions but very difficult due to limited resources and time. The decisions I make now and carry out at retirement will affect my children & grandchildre a great deal so that makes it even more important to make them wisely. Richard's next recommendation is to gather information and ideas. So that is where I am now. Looking for ideas, examples, warnings, information, and new perspectives. I would sincerely appreciate any comments any of our SFF family have to offer.

DON"T SAY THAT YOU LOVE ME......

.....show me instead.
There are so many ways to say it without using those words.
A song to share. A ride in the country. A special look across a crowded room. Your hand on the small of my back. Just holding me close without speaking when I am hurt or sad. An inside joke. Knowing what I like....flowers, music, art. Helping me when I need it without taking over. Letting me help you and being understanding when I'm not sure how. Listening without judgement. Teaching me what you wish I knew. Telling me when I don't get it right and having the confidence in me that I can "take" it. Be proud of me, don't hide me away. Sing to me. Be strong for me when I am not. Accept my strength when you need an extra measure. Tell me a bedtime story.
More than anything else...Be there for me!

DREAMING...I MUST BE DREAMING........

What about you??? Do you think you have ever gained a better understanding of yourself through a dream? Are your dreams usually pleasant? Have you ever solved a problem through a dream? Do you recall your dreams twice a week or more? Have you ever had a recurring dream? Do you have nightmares? If you have a disturbing dream does a bad mood continue into the day? Do you dream in color? Do you cry or shout out during dreams? Would you share a particularly poignant dream you have experienced? In your opinion, is a dream different from a vision? If you think it is, have you ever had a vision?
