A Little Weaker , A Little Quieter, But Still Paris... May 18, 2007 4:26 pm
Mood: sad, 1486 Views
I called Vonnie's at 11:30 this morning and she told me the home health care nurse was there teaching her how to care for Paris at home. We only chatted a minute so she could get back to the business at hand.

My daughter and I went to lunch and as soon as we got home I sat down and started to call again when the phone rang.

"Linda"? "This is Paris" you could absolutely hear the smile in her voice. She is unlike anyone I have ever known!

We talked for so long I got worried about tiring her out. She asked about the Bash but hadn't seen the pictures yet. They have been so busy getting her settled in at home. She is concerned about Vonnie being able to hold up to take care of her and said she might have to go into a nursing home.

Paris is so appreciative of all the cards, phone calls, everything everyone has done to express their love and concern for her.

She got a little teary when telling me that she has signed her car over to her daughter-in-law. Each step like that is traumatic for her, knowing that some things are behind her now.

Typical of Paris, she was concerned about my surgery and therapy. I assured her that when my therapy is completed I would be there to see her.

She told me that breathing nothing but hospital air for 41 days really made her appreciate the fresh air she enjoyed sitting on Vonnie's front porch.

A little bird had told her that I had a lot of help at the Bash from a Bad Boy. I assured her he wasn't as bad as he made himself out to be.
She said she wanted me to be involved with someone so we could be as happy together as Rusdur and Deborahsu. That is a tall order, cause they are a wonderful couple. Maybe Deb can tell me their secret.

Paris was amazed that so much money was raised at the Bash Auction, and once again asked if any money they didn't use before, could be used for her burial. I assured her the money was for whatever she needed or wanted-no strings attached.

I told her what an impact her video had on everyone and she told me all the things she thought should be done to improve it! Still creative! FooledOnce is going to have to use his best video technical skills!

I asked her to get some rest as she was really tiring out and reminded her how much she is loved.

She told me she could feel that and appreciated each and everyone of her prayer warriors.

Couldn't let her go without telling her that I still laugh out loud each time I read or recall her blog on pruning the little bush. We both laughed on that one.

With lots of "I Love YOU's" we hung up, Paris to rest and me to thank our Father for keeping her relatively pain free, giving her peace of mind and surrounding her with angels. Some of those angels are the heavenly kind....others are members of SFF. Continue to hold her in your hearts, while God holds her in His hands.

I BEEN BASHED..... May 14, 2007 7:09 pm

.....and it was good!

WOW! What a fantastic experience. At last I met this incredible group of people and it was bittersweet saying goodbye when the BASH was over.

Red did an awesome job of organizing and facilitating the White Elephant Auction and it produced a wonderful donation for the "To Paris With Love" fund. Red is not only a ton of fun but a terrific event planner.

I want to give a big thanks to everyone who made a donation of an auction item and to those who made the bids. Without all of you it wouldn't have worked. GreatSmile4U is going to have to give the rest of us tips on shopping as a career goal!

We did share a very poignant moment when we viewed the dvd Paris/Venus sent us. That is one amazing woman.By the end of the dvd there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I thought we had sent the dvd home with FooledOnce to put online with the photos that were taken at the BASH. Then I discovered it in a box of things that came back to my place.
Today I have been trying to get it all online but am not having much luck. I will get everything to someone who can do that ASAP.

TreasureHunter proved that a Bad Bad Boy can be a real Good Man! He was soooo helpful. No matter what needed to be done he was right there getting it done. And he is a terrific photographer. When I am able to get all those photos online you will agree with me I'm sure.

Lovetolaugh commented on another blog about MrCo's bids on what he thought was an opportunity to get a set of champagne flutes and wound up with two dates. Even funnier, had he won all the bids he placed, he would have had dates with two fillies(ladies) and two colts(gents).

Soccer tried to complete the set of glasses that MrCo was bidding on and wound up with a date with YellowDuck. They looked great on the dance floor.

I haven't heard if the singing Red Hat Cat made it home with Soccer or not. There was some talk of tying it to the top of the car.

MissMermaid brought her Little Mermaid with her and she was just as delightful as her mother. She made off with all the s*x toys and was ready to go home to her husband as soon as the auction was over. Like mother, like daughter! LOL

The Arkansas/Texas crowd kept things lively the entire time. What a terrific group. I see why the 6+2 are so close.

Belle was a hot little pistol packin' Mama who was ready to try everything new she saw on the dance floor and picked it up in a Texas minute.

Lovetolaugh showed us some fancy footwork then was surprised when she won a prize for her dancing.

Our wait staff picked the winners in the Country Glam and Dance contests.

GreatSmile4u, MichianaRedhead Belle La Donna, Hawkslayer, TreasureHunter4 and QueMarcos were the winners in the Country Glam contest.

MissionControl, Lovetolaugh, NancyL644, YellowDuck, Tomgolfs and TxJw were our Dance Competition winners.

Deborahsu wore a stunning and elegant outfit that I personally loved, all black and silver glitter with a long skirt.

Over was impressive and totally natural looking in his western finery. What a handsome gentleman.

I was so happy to see FooledOnce and Cinderella arrive on Saturday. They are a charming couple.

We all left our mark on the wall at the Nashville Palace. Rusdur made sure everyone knew where his heart lies. Beside his name he wrote, "Belongs to Deborahsu".

Plano gave out some toe rings but I missed getting one. Never did hear what it took to qualify for one. LOL

The folks who came the farthest were Happy1204 and her sisters, LaReina and Soledad, from Puerto Rico. They are lovely ladies! No wonder that TruckMan drove so far to see them.

Abelle2 gave an hilarious demonstration of an old lady dancing. This is an act you don't want to miss.

If there had been a prize for the most infectious laugh I would have awarded it to Sassy. And for sheer lovliness and sweet
demeanor no one could out distance our MeMe.

Michael96 is a mirror image of a cousin of mine and what a surprise to learn they share the same name.

Radiobeams popped in and out. Wish she could have stayed longer.

Two gentlemen, Bayman392 and Joe60115, were on the quiet side, but you know, they say, "Still waters run deep." Definitely men to get to know.

Vec is a real trooper who stayed the course in spite of her worries about her grandson back home.

YaYa and Jim added color and humor to the mix while MrNiceGuy scoped out the Nashville Scene. I am hoping he will share his photos with all of us.

TomGolfs didn't....but he did dance. I hope his friend will come with him to St Pete.

Teresa is a very lovely lady. Her photo on SFF doesn't do her justice. And PopArtist beamed in her presence. What a cute couple.

We can recommend Caney Fork Fish Camp enthusiastically. Michael96 ordered "pig steak" but the rest of us had Blackened Grouper, Salmon or Ham. Yummmmmmmm! And the service was exceptional! They were impressed with us as well.
Especially with our Groupy Groper! Got them so unsettled they were calling the grouper groper.

All in all the BASH was a success. Not because of the decorations, the food, the wine or the entertainment. But because this was a fascinating group of people who made it exciting and fun.

See you all in St Pete in October!!!!!

**********ALLERGY ALERT FOR BASH**********

I woke up this morning with my eyes swollen nearly shut....allergies!
If you are coming to the Bash and have a problem with allergies be sure and bring along any allergy medicine you depend on. I'm just out of the shower and the eyes look a little better. When I get off here I am on my way to the pharmacy to get something before it gets worse.

While you are packing don't forget sunscreen. It is as essential to the Nashville scene as rhinestones and sequins.

Have a great day!

Nashville Bash.....60 hours and counting May 7, 2007 7:53 pm
Mood: excited, 809 Views
I am so excited that in approximately 60 hours Nashville will welcome an amazing group from SFF.

A bit nervous here that I may not have covered all the bases and forgotten something important.
But hopefully everyone will be understanding and whatever it might be, I will do my best to handle it.

There are a few details I need to bring to the attention of those who are attending.

I have been asked about the weather forecast for the weekend. We are expecting daytime temperatures of 80-85 during the day, 65-70 at night and a 50% possibility of rain.

Others have asked what sort of attire they should bring. I will be wearing jeans, pullover tops and sandals.

And there has been some concern about the Saturday night at the Nashville Palace and the costume contest....what does Country Glam mean?

So here is my explanation. Country music devotees wear a variety of styles ranging from the traditional type consisting of denim, Western hat, boots and sparkle to contemporary evening wear. Whatever makes you feel comfortable, sexy and ready to dance and have fun is exactly what you should wear. There will be 3 prizes for ladies and 3 for men.

A couple of people have wondered about the dancing. Not to worry. If you aren't familiar with the Texas Two Step, Cotten Eye Joe or line dancing, Julie, my contact at the Palace, has assured me there will be an instructor on hand to get you up and going.

Now there are a couple of things I could use some help with.

Someone had hoped to be with us and was bringing
karaoke equipment but now isn't going to be able to make it. So it would be great if someone could bring along a cd player that would hold more than one cd at a time (that's all mine will take) it would help tremendously. If that is something you could do please email me here in SFF.

I am excited that Paris is sending a video for us to view. I don't have a camcorder to cover the activities at the BASH so if you have one I hope you will bring it along. And if you know how to put both online so everyone can see it that will be awesome.

The clock is ticking so I'd better get off here and get back to packing.

IN DEFENSE OF BAD BOYZ.... May 6, 2007 1:13 pm
559 Views
I read the TreasureHunter4's blog on why he decided to apologize for his participation in the Bad Boyz Contest.

The lady who responded negatively to the way TH4 waged his campaign is of course entitled to her opinion.

I just wanted to add my two cents to the mix.

I think it was natural that the Bad Boy contest was quite different from the Bad Girl Contest, because the way women think, act and react is quite different from the way men do.

What I saw, as I read the ladies' blogs during their contest was sweet, kinda naughty, playfulness. Just like most women are sweet, kinda naughty and playful.

Now, reading the men's blogs shows them to be strong, aggressive, lusty....just like men usually are.

TreasureHunter4 has conducted his campaign in this bit of fun with testosterone directed purpose and hilarious acting just as the other entrants have done.

I applaud all the participants and their supporters....but my vote is for TreasureHunter4.

YA'LL ARE PLAYING WITH FIRE.... May 4, 2007 4:54 pm
Mood: restless, 682 Views
Getting involved with that T.Hunter character.
He is the worst kind of BAD.
Those dark glasses he's wearing? To cover up those cold, calculating eyes.
Let me tell you how I know about these things,

I was sitting at a table with 3 gals from my office, nursing a Jack and Coke and wondering how soon I could slip out without being rude. One of them, Julie, was celebrating "D" day. Her divorce was final and she wanted to make the most of her new found freedom.
The bar was as noisy as you would expect on a Friday night and I was getting a headache from all the smoke in the air.
The only guy worth looking at twice was onstage, lead singer, and he was singing his love songs to a redhead at a table to our left.
Suddenly, Paula, the youngest of our group, or at least the most naive and certainly the most easily impressed, squealed, "Oh, look! It's him!"
"It's THE HUNTER!"
I'd heard of this fellow around the office and was curious about him. All the questions I had asked about him had been answered with exclamations of excitement, and sighs of desire. Naturally I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
Nonchalantly I turned toward the door and gave him a head to toe. Dressed in a black jacket you didn't have to touch to know it was custom made and soft as butter, a cream colored felt western hat riding low on his forehead, shirt straining across his muscular chest, silver belt buckle gleaming, dark wash creased jeans and black Justin's, he was worth turning around to look at.
As he made his way toward the bar women flocked around him like flies to honey, and he brushed them aside with the same respect he would give a swarm of gnats.
One gal seemed to have the idea that he was looking for her. A leggy blonde with a come hither look and a beer in each hand, she held one out for him. He took it with barely a nod to her and walked on. Her face grew red, she tossed her long hair over her shoulder and screeched after him, "You heartless dog! How could you treat me like this after last night?"
He didn't even break his stride.
She let the second bottle fly, with pretty good aim, toward his head.
With fluid ease he swung around and caught the bottle, set it on the table near him, touched the brim of his hat with two fingers and replied smoothly, "Last night? What about last night? I really don't recall." He downed the beer she had given him and placed that bottle beside the other one. Then just stood staring at her with dark, angry eyes. Her look went from angry to pleading to resigned and she walked dejectedly out of the bar.

To be continued....

A WARNING TO SFF LADIES... May 3, 2007 6:37 pm
Mood: enraged, 738 Views
There is a real predator in our midst. A truly BADDD BOY! He is a deal maker and a heart breaker. I hate to bring out all the dirty little details on this fellow but you can not trust this guy with your money, or your heart or your life.
I know it isn't really polite to "out" someone in this public forum but sometimes an exception has to be made to every rule.
In the interest of the public good, I must unveil this evil twin of treasurehunter4
T.HUNTER IS BADDDDDDD!!!!!

BRING ON THE BAD BOYS!!! Apr 30, 2007 7:56 am
Mood: eager, 689 Views
I enjoyed the Bad Girl Battle this weekend and want to congratulate Ladynads for the way she implemented a terrific idea. She certainly deserves the title bestowed upon her by Treasurehunter.

And orchids to the 40 women who participated. To the Bad girls with titles of Princesses of BAD, wear your tiaras with pride.

May OLA's reign as Queen of the Bad Girls be filled with a multitude of new opportunities for Badness!

I know all our thoughts and prayers are with the Queen Mum of Bad Girls, Paris, today. She was a fearless leader in the realm of bad and now leads the way in brave and good.

I'm sure all the guys in SFF have been watching this contest with great interest and you gals will be inundated with emails, winks and placed on tons of hotlists.

But Ladynads I have other interests and am more than ready for you to bring on the BAD BOYS OF SFF.

If none volunteer, I'm sure you Bad Girls can nominate a few. I have one or two in mind myself!

WELL I DON'T KNOW BUT I'VE BEEN TOLD... Apr 28, 2007 9:30 pm
Mood: giggly, 633 Views
That adorable lookin' Red is baaaaad and bold.

'N Belle_la_donna's a Texas baaaad azz girl,
Verified by her best friends in the world.

While Abelle aka Earthy Ann,
Had her baaad rep sworn to by her man.

Then there's the legendary tale of Imatallone
Her story is badder than Annie Get Your Gun

Mae West had nothing on our Lonely Looper
They say she can put any man in a stupor.

But the one gal who really takes the cake,
Is a so called innocent on the make.

Let me tell you what she has done to me
And you'll know she's the baaaadest a gal can be.

**************************************************

Well, I was dancin' with my Darlin' to the Tennessee Waltz,
When OLA I happened to see.
I introduced her to my Darlin' and while they were dancin'
That baaaad old OLA stole my sweetheart from me.

**************************************************

So now you all know the truth
And there is just one thing to do
Vote for OLA cause she's plain bad
She'll steal the best man you've ever had.

That's right, that innocent lookin', pantie flashin', jailbaitn', maneatn' OLA is the one you want to elect to BAAAADEST OF THE BAAAAD!!!

She'll dance on the tables and shoot out the lights
Kiss all the fellows and start cat fights.

And if you're believn' this ridiculous Tale,
Come see my spaghetti farm up for sale!

TO PARIS/VENUS ... WITH LOVE Apr 24, 2007 7:51 pm
Mood: hopeful, 704 Views
Each time I see the stars twinkling in the skies,
It makes me think of the sparkle in your eyes.
And when I listen to the murmur of the wind
I can almost hear your laughter again.

So here's a toast to you, sweet, sassy southern girl.
You came along and brought sunshine to our world.
You have made us laugh and you have made us cry.
You've joined our hearts in prayer for a gift of time.

Every day when each of us speak to our Father up above,
And we thank Him for keeping us safe in His arms of love,
We will rememer everything that blessed our way,
The artists, the poets, the music of our day.

We'll thank Him for family and friends who stood beside us,
And His Holy Spirit come to comfort and to guide us.
Each list will be different but for one thing the same between us,
We'll remind Him of how much we love our precious Venus.

So here's a toast to Venus, sweet, sassy southern girl.
You came along and brought sunshine to our world.
You have made us laugh and you have made us cry.
You've joined our hearts in prayer for a gift of time.

May it be so!
