I swear I'm not making this up.

The italicized paragraph below is one I copied off an e-mail circulated by the McCain-Palin campaign:

How are you "Joe the Plumber"?
Tell us in 30 seconds...

We want you to tell us how you are "Joe the Plumber" and why you're supporting John McCain and Sarah Palin in thirty seconds. You could even see your video as an official McCain TV ad.

Facing the biggest national rejection since Barry Goldwater in 1964, desperate and low on money (because their fatcat supporters know they're gonna lose and are withholding the cash), the Republicans want you to e-mail them a video you make of yourself!

They want a video of you telling the whole country how you're an ordinary, honest working stiff who loves the Republican Party.

In my opinion, the Republicans want stupid people to advertise their stupidity nationally. They want boneheads to expose themselves to the Media Meatgrinder in the faint hope your video might, might, be the one to breathe life into the ghastly corpse that the once-mighty John McCain For President Campaign has now become.

God forgive me (not really). I can't help finding all this very funny.

In addition to Joe The Plumber, the Republicans have now discovered Ed The Dairyman and Tito The Builder.

Apparently these people are actually serious with this crap.

I hope anyone crazy enough to send a video to McCain-Palin knows that if their spot gets aired, they'll immediately be descended upon by the national news media. As has happened with Joe the Alleged Plumber (who has no plumber's license and who doesn't pay his property taxes), their lives will instantly be investigated all the way back the womb.

McCain-Palin? They'll still lose, of course.

Wishing to help the Republicans out (and have a laugh too), I'm suggesting a few good Republican names for individuals dumb enough to submit videos. Please vote for whichever one you like best and forward you choice to the McCain-Palin 2008 Campaign.

If you hate all of them, you're very fussy and I can't help that. Post your own list.

 Well, I am sure that if they are looking for someone to replace Joe the Plumber, many who crave attention and to be able to get their name out there will be in a line to apply. It wouldn't matter if they were really for McCain or not.

I'm laughing out loud here - loudly. At the risk of some Bozo (the Who Can We Attack Next) Brain-stormer feeling scorned...I'm betting that there are some at this site who have already submitted their videos!!!

And, since I don't want to create my own blog, I'd just like to suggest another name: J. Wm. the-poor but rich-man-wanna-be-Republican. If he keeps voting for the Republican candidates, someday they'll reward just him with riches! HA!!

The positive is there. Sometimes it's just hard to find.
