A gal I met through SFF sent me a box of red beans and rice. She lives in Louisiana. It is really good. I have one in the cabinet, gonna make it soon. I have been "hankerin" for it anyway. I have some Kielbasa in the freezer. Gonna put that with or in it.

Well, I certainly appreciate your sending that nasty weather to her instead of to me like you were threatening! It was in the 60 today and partly sunny. Tomorrow's high is in the uppers 30s and then it will start warming up again..... but tonight is supposed to be cold and windy. I don't think I've had rice and beans although I've heard of it. Your conglomeration sounds good, but too spicy for my tastes. I like the flavors but do not like the heat. Maybe I could add some sour cream to tame it down a bit? Hi ET, sounds real good. Sriracha hot sauce is a little spicy for me, I do like re-fried beans, rice and sweet Thai chili sauce

Your food sounds mighty good. I'll be going out for both lunch and dinner so will have to see if I can't find something like that. Very sorry about your snow. Strong T-storms due here today. While we're not out of the woods (snow has been known to arrive in March), this could end up being a nearly snowless winter here.

I use sour cream for that reason with a lot of foods. I wouldn't mix it into the beans and rice, but put some on top of it, like I do with Mexican pizza, a little bit with each bite. I love salsa and chips, but even the mild is too hot for me, so I mix a little sour cream in with it, and I get the taste without the heat. Good cooks do have their share of big flops, but they also can cook up delicious dishes from just the food they have on hand. Sounds like you are one of the good ones! That sounds good too! Have you discovered the sour cream in the squeeze container? It doesn't get watery like the kind in the container with a lid. I love it because I don't use it real often, and I was throwing away more than I used in the other kind of container.
