Not a fan of apple pie, EXCEPT the homemade kind. But don't give bigblock any........ he prefers fried chicken for his dessert! Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Earthy are you on a cooking spree? Yesterday it was lasagna and today it is apple pie. I do make an awesome apple pie though. It has always been a favorite of mine. I use lots of cinnamon in mine and no nutmeg.

I can confirm that this pie was delicious. Though the slice I got was rather large and it took me two sittings to eat it!! Alfie....

Good for you Earthy. At least your food doesn't go to waste or should I say goes to waist. I think there are other organizations besides meal on wheels that you can this kind of service. I have never researched it as I am quite capable to make my own meals sans apple pie.

Earthy that pie looks delicious. I haven't had a slice of any kind of pie in decades but I could sure go for one now. You're like the Martha Stewart of SFF. lol

Earthy you mentioned about using the scraps of the pie dough. Funny that must have been a thing everyone did in those long gone years. Nothing was wasted and besides which pie dough with sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top was a great treat. Mom would hand over the dough scraps to us kids and we would make our own pie crust treat. Thanks for posting this reminder from my youth. My mom made another pie that the recipe came from my grandmother I believe. She would line the pie plate with the pastry and then she would fill the shell with a rich cream/milk mixture. On top of this should sprinkle flour and then brown sugar. After baking it the pie would be thickened and it was like a custard pie. There was probably a name for it but I don't remember it. It was an old Pennsylvania Dutch recipe.
