I have my great aunt's crock that she made Lord knows how many batches of sauerkraut. Right now I have some tall artificial flowers in it.

I now make my own sauerkraut...I buy it in a jar, open it and eat it.

ET I well remember those crocks. My mother made kraut in them and our home made bread was stored in one as well. a and kept in the basement. The reason the bread was stored in the crock was to keep the mice out as they were unable to run up the side of the crock. I think folks in those days were ingenious and practical. We had a few of those crocks around and they had endless uses.
