I think I have addressed that problem sensibly by only allowing slams at me. Comments that insult any other SFF member will be deleted and the deletion noted in the blog. My decision is final, and there is no appeal.

Maybe they didn't understand your statement?? I think that if a person wants to keep the discussion civil, they should delete comments that insult other posters.

I would allow it, Obviously too many people here believe what they read. I can't do anything about that. I, personally, have never read a slammer here that by my perception hasn't just slammed themselves. Through my eyes, I feel, it's appropriate to allow someone to hang themselves. I wish I could stop the people who live in agreement in principle with a slammer to understand that slamming is unacceptable regardless of where you stand on the issue. However, much like politic in this country, it's easy to lose ones integrity when you believe the ends justify the means.

The problem with allowing exchanges of personal insults in one's blog is that it detracts from the main issue. When I write a blog I want comments on the topic, not opinions on the personal character of another SFF'er.

Oh Earthy and you are such a comic. Well done blog and one can learn a few truths here. I just don't get it why people have to sling mud at others. After all we live in countries where we have freedom of speech. Jiminy I love your comment and how true it is.
