.... rather, I think they say what they say because they are aligned to a party that's as impossible to work with as they are. If they can't lead, they won't play in the same sandbox. They are content to throw mud pies.
Staunch alignment with any party is about the dumbest way to vote as any I can imagine. We bore witness to that in what occurred (or didn't occur) in the past eight-year administration. The phantom Osama is still on the loose. How's that for an eight-year record?

I tend to agree with you.
I might add that I think we are a one party system with the conservative and liberal wings of that party being the Republicans and Democrats. I try to vote using common sense because I have seen both parties are often ready to sell out to fill their coffers.
The country is owned by corporate conglomerates who owe no allegiance to America and for a profit they easily forget all their tax breaks and move jobs outside the country.

He was on the loose the 8 years prior to the last administration too.
It is a little short sighted to blame allll the ills of our country on any one man..as it is a little short sighted to think that any one man can fix all the ills in short order.
It would take several years of the entire country pulling together and giving up their sacred cows in order for some of the mess we are in to get fixed.
Not likely to happen ET. The people on this web site can't do it..why would we think the entire nation would?

ET, and just think, if the Clinton administration had accepted Osama Bin Laden when he was offered to be turned over to us by Yemen, he wouldn't have been loose those prior eight years that you like to reference.

....If the Democrats in the early 70's (Ted Kennedy leading the charge to defeat it)had approved of President Nixon's health care plan back then we wouldnt be having a debate now.

Once again, it is so easy to throw a stone; The real truth is the American people have chosen their leaders; we really don't have the best to choose from, because it is just too expensive and requires too much ego and thick skin to go through our agonizing election process. Money will always talk and those who fail to see how Money makes this President talk fall in line with those who failed to see how former leaders did the same. I have yet to see promises made fulfilled by any President. They cannot walk their talk if they wish to get relelected. This one is no exception to the rule. However, this one has ambitions beyond the Presidency. That puts me on my guard. Oh, and I have read both of his books. I recommend all do so.

60min makes a good point. If the American people had got our foot in the door then we would have had something we could have improved on over the years.

No, MTNMOM .... you forget .... I didn't vote for Obama. I wrote in Ron Paul. But, I do like Obama's attempts at putting us in better strides with other nations of the world. He has left-overs on his plate that may never be fixed.

It is always so easy to look back, in our own lives and in our country's past as say, "should have, could have" but the truth is we are living now the decisions that were made in the past and if we want different results tomorrow, we have to start making different decisions today. BOTH parties are about as corrupt as money can buy, and the PEOPLE are going to have to make changes.
Belle said it very well.

LOL.. I am not much for leftovers.. but I guess if we are saving a bit of money TWO could have a bit for fun spicing up and cooking a few.. well once in awhile. OH hell, I guess I was not thinking of being political.. I loooooose track of the subject at times.
Back to subject: I guess I need to finish working on my blog in Drafts "Lets blame President Nixon.. " I still think we need to go wayyyyy wayyyy back and start the blame so we realllly feel gooood.

Life is as we live and learn. We the people together have made all the mistakes and also the right decisions. Personally I couldn't be so narrow minded to vote for one party and see things through tunnel vision. I see things as I see it and no one party could be so correct for me to go entirely along with them and their thoughts. Some of the time I believe that the people don't get involved enough. The people get so caught up in going camping, bowling, dancing, fishing or partying on the weekend that during the week that is also where their mind is. Think of the people that never pick up a newspaper or listen to the news. My first husband was like that because all he new about was sports...and that's all he cared about. Bonding ties can be broken...just put the wrong man up for election as president with the wrong party and see people that once got along start to argue.
I'm looking to the future and it's out of sight, only in the end shall I take flight.

Most of the media companies in the US are controlled by only 10 corporations, referred to as the new Media Cartel. The 10 are: - General Electric, - Disney, - Time Warner, - New Corp., - Viacom, - Vivendi, - Sony, - Berltesman, - AT&T and - Liberty Media. This cartel keeps us fully entertained and only half-informed. It’s growing here and shrinking there but over all, the Leviathan grows ever larger, ever louder and ever less subject to oversight and dissent. They have economic clout and cultural sway They taking up more time and space, in every street, in Countless homes, in every other head, much like Big Brother
predicted in George Orwell’s 1984 novel. Now GE controls:

Remember the old saying: "I'm not sure you fully realize that what you thought you heard me say was not what I really meant."
If Osama Bin Laden is even still alive, he is hiding in a cave buried deep underground and is afraid to show his face. Also, a large number of his lieutenants who were alive on 9/11 are either dead or in prison. There is considerable evidence that the Iraq War was pretty successfully prosecuted. Unfortunately, it appears that Obama is doing his best to undermine what was accomplished in Afghanistan.
The Nobel Peace Prize Committee is a joke. What they were trying to do is so transparent that even many liberal writers and commentators have been highly critical of their choice.
A number of studies of bias in the major media outlets such as newspapers, tv, and print journalism make it quite clear that a highly liberal slant colors what the public reads, sees and hears. And it's been that way for years.
