I know how I want to be treated, and I try to treat others the same way....with kindness, respect, and honesty.

I respect the beliefs of everyone, as long as they do not force them on me either personally or through government (public) regulation.

I think our laws basically reflect this.... Be kind. Respect everyone. Be honest.

I don't think that atheists...." scream and fight something they don't even believe in."

They just don't want to have religiously based laws (whether Christian, Islamic, etc.) forced on them.

Folks just want equal treatment for everyone, no matter whether they are a believer in a particular god or not. I don't think that you have to be religious to believe in kindness, respect, and honesty.

Much of it is culturally based.

In many parts of Afghanistan premarital sex between and man and woman can get you killed.

But men using young boys for sex is accepted.
