We all have a group of Friends that we Forward e-mails to. We read it, like it, and send it on to Friends we think will enjoy it too. There's nothing wrong with that, in my opinion, and I do enjoy them. But whatever happened to WRITING a personal note now and then, just to say "Hello, how are you"? That was pointed out to me recently by a good Friend. She let me know she enjoyed the 'Laff' when she received my latest forward. Then she asked about my Daughter. I think we should ALL take time to write the people we care about, and consider Friends. I always enjoy when some one acknowledges my FORWARD even if it's just one line. I am Guilty of not doing just that. I get great stuff, read it and pass it along. From now on I will try to let everyone know how I appreciate their e-mails, and I hope everyone will try to do the same. I Really Love it when I get a personal message.
It's kind of like getting a card or letter through snail mail.

I agree... I also I have the issues of receiving the exact same forwards from about 6-8 different friends in the same day.

sadly people rarely send a personal message ~ more importantly is they simply hit the forwards button and send on everybodies live email accounts
i always delete other email addresses before sendiing it on

Whew! I thought you meant we had to take pen in hand and write on paper, stick in an envelope, apply a stamp and walk down the drive to the mailbox or....drive to the Post Office.

My issue is getting 6- 12 forwards from the same person on one day.....Wouldn't one do and then like you suggest a personal note? Some of theses are photo's of where they've been.

I know, you are so right, should take more time to send at least a card now and then...We forget that little sign of caring..

I do NOT do it, really I don't because I hate to get those forwards. I always write personal notes and if I want to embellish, I do it with photographs.

I loath them, and dont forward them. Even worse, when everyones addresses are intact. SO BLOODY STUPID. DONT DO IT, ERASE ADDIES . !

I have stopped reading forwarded messages except from two close friends, who always strip the addies and what they send is worth reading.

Barb, I just received 18 forwards from a friend whom I love dearly. Her history is she never writes a word personally, just hits forward. Therefore, I just deleted 18 forwards without opening one. Before this 24 hours is over, I'll probably receive two more batches of forwards from this friend. I used to thoroughly enjoy some of the jokes sent to me. I have to admit she's taken all the joy out of my receiving anything with forward in the subject line.
Question is, how do I tell her? I wouldn't hurt her feelings for anything.

I learned in my computer club that those FWs (which usually come from an unknown source because they have been forwarded so many times) may contain malware or spyware ~ so I NEVER open them, and delete immediately. It's not worth messing up my computer just to read a lame joke
Agreeing with you that a personal note is so much more worthwhile than those FWs !
