I agree. If we accept a job we agree need respect and represent the choices of the employer. If we don't we should not accept the job in the first place or move on when we find we can not continue we need to move on.

I remember having a young woman who said she was a 7th Day Adventist and could not work on Saturdays. Our nursing home required employees to work every other weekend, but they made a concession for her beliefs. They did schedule her to work all Sundays, since she was getting half of every weekend off, with an occasional Sunday off if she requested it.
Some employees who knew her, told me she wasn't 'religious' at all, it was just her way of not having to work after partying on Friday nights, and she griped all the time because she had to work on Sundays after partying on Saturday nights. She didn't remain at this job very long....... I guess rather than switch to every other weekend like other people worked, she didn't want to admit she had lied.

I agree with what others have said. People should thoroughly understand what a job entails and what the employer requires. The employer and the potential employee should discuss all needs at the interview, and if reasonable concessions can not be made by either side and an equitable arrangement can not be done, then no job can be offered.

Look on the other side of this issue, if you don't hire them because of their beliefs, or their differences, then you are discriminating and then they sue you!
