The Stormy Daniels/Donald Trump scandal involves an alleged one encounter between Donald Trump and film actress Stormy Daniels. The scandal grew when the public learned that Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen paid lots of Benjamins to Daniels for her silence during Trump's 2016 U.S. presidential campaign.

Compounding the scandal, after the election Trump is alleged to have reimbursed Cohen via falsified business records designed to hide their true nature. In addition, it is alleged that Trump's intent in allegedly falsifying the records was to hide any one of three other crimes: Cohen's illegal campaign contribution, tax law violations, and/or conspiring to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Trump is being prosecuted in New York for these alleged crimes, in the first criminal trial of a former U.S. president.
