I think it's all deliberate on Trump's part.....He believes that there is a wide fringe of Republicans that love the hate-mongers and he thinks he has enough support from mainstream Republicans in order to carry the fringe........If you pay attention, you will see how the American Right wing have developed a belief-system that smoothly amalgamates hatred/xenophobia with their Christian religion........they can kill off drug dealers without trial in the morning and save seed-sized "babies" from abortion in the afternoon, without even a tiny burp of incongruity........Trump is the ultimate grifter and the media continue to fall for it.......Grift is his gift.......

I hope you're right about that......Still, Republicans won the House and there are a lot of really ugly members........people who even refer to themselves as Christian Nationalists........
